Stokke Xplory V5

The Stoke Xplory V5 is the fifth generation is the fourth generation of the unique high-end stroller and the best-known Stokke model, released at the end of 2016/beginning of 2017. The iconic design with the single bar in the center of the chassis, the height-adjustable seat and the bag form of the shopping basket divides opinions and makes the Xplory the most popular as well as the most condemned urban stroller. The V5 version features the new, lighter yet sturdier black wheels in black with denser spokes. The Stokke Xplory V5 was also released in Athleisure collection (Athletics + Leisure). This collection features a sporty design with high-tech, quick-dry fabrics and an extended mesh hood on the carrycot as well as on the seat.
The bucket seat is reversible, can be used as parent or forward-facing. You have three recline options when the seat is parent-facing - upright, semi-reclined and a lie flat, and two positions - upright and semi-reclined way when forward-facing. When not reclined, the seat is very upright. The foot rest does not lift up, but its length can be adjusted. The seat is suitable for children approximately 6 months of age and older, however, using the optional newborn insert, it can be used from birth. You can put your newborn in the original, sold-separately Xplory carrycot divided in the baby’s feet area, or in an optional car seat. The stroller can be personalized by using seat textile kits (Style Kits) including the summer kit with a sun visor or the insulated winter kit with fur, as well as various other accessories.

Parent reviews of the Stokke Xplory V5
- light
- height-adjustable seat
- the baby is very high up, so it enjoys the view
- wheels... too bad they are not full rubber or tires :)
The only drawback for me are the wheels... As it is an urban stroller, it fully met my expectations :)
- Lots of accessories, kits
- Pretty good manoeuvrability
- Poor quality material, scratches quickly
- We have the Athleisure version and there the sun penetrates into the stroller through the holes in the canopy - it annoys my daughter and it makes her cry all the time
- Price
I bought the stroller because I was in love with the design, but when it arrived I was very disappointed. It arrived already scratched and the scratches just kept adding up with normal use. One would expect better quality and durability for the money.
- Spacious seat
- Covers can be changed according to the season, a big plus for me 👍
- The stroller is very handy in narrow aisles, perfect for shopping malls or city streets
- The whole stroller is height adjustable so you can adjust the height to suit you
- It is the only stroller that can be easily folded down to walk up the stairs nicely
- Closable shopping bag
- The changing bag attaches to the chassis, fits on the chassis and doesn't weigh down the handle
- The accessories are well thought out - the rain cover fits beautifully and covers the whole seat nicely, despite the sturdy bar through the middle
- About the accessories: the footmuff fits nicely in the seat, does not slide at all and is not too bulky
- The front wheels can hardly handle snow, I do not recommend the xplory model for snow
A great city stroller that can handle some terrain. The baby seat is amazing, but the footrest is better on the new V6 version. The V5 is 1.5kg lighter than the V4, thanks to the new wheels. Overall, I think it's the best stroller we could have chosen. It suits us very well.
Probably the best stroller I've had :-)
- An advantage is the number of style kits / summer kits - accessories
- Faces both directions
- Easy to use
- For me a small bag
- A bit heavier frame
Perfect, luxurious, good handling. A great advantage is the change of style kits / summer kits.
- easy one-handed steering
- perfect accessories (summer kit, winter kit, footmuffs, etc.)
- seat height
- seat faces both directions
- very hard chassis - the stroller has no suspension at all, you feel every stone strongly
- small carrycot (my daughter's lasted 5 months, my son's lasted 4 months)
- calluses on your hands (the handle has no padding)
- rideability - I often ride with the rear wheels raised to pick out the unevenness of the easier terrain; I almost always ride very slowly to ensure comfort for the baby and not knock the heck out of him; when hitting a slightly elevated curb, I need to lift the stroller over the rear wheels (moms with strollers pass by without slowing down); it happens that the front wheels get stuck in place when there is an unevenness; in autumn, the leaves stick under the front mudguards and gradually pack up (they need to be removed); in winter, snow sticks to the front wheels and gets stuck to the front mudguard (several times the snow got stuck there and I had to kick it off with my foot to keep going, and overall it is not very easy to drive in the snow); once I had a public transport bus stop abruptly, and the pram would have tipped over sideways if I hadn't caught it...
With my first daughter, I was thinking more about looks than practicality. The winner was Stokke Xplory, at that time I was praising it to the skies and with all the equipment I put a huge amount for it. I loved it and didn't pay attention to some of its "flaws".
Now I have a second child, and after half a year of use, we are changing the stroller. I have sobered up, and I have to admit that its driving characteristics are very bad. A few times I even got the front wheels stuck and the rear wheels went into the air - and that was on a bike path with only minor potholes. Riding in the snow is more like sliding on snow, and if there's slush you can't ride at all.
I guess I could sum it up by saying that I overlooked the faults before and looked mainly at the positives of it, now I can see the other side. With my first child I said never I'd get another stroller, and with my second the exact opposite.
- Sufficient bassinet, large enough for up to 6m
- Excellent ride/handling
- Small basket/bag for your stuff in the lower part
For us the best stroller for the age of up to six months. Handles well, easy to fold... we recommend.
- Design
- Functionality
- Accessories
- Seat unit
- Smaller carrycot
Easy to use and great design.
- Very practical fold
- Not overly heavy
- No cons for me - it was the stroller of my dreams
A fantastic stroller... we were 100% happy with it. Very practical for us - we got over any terrain there was 👍🏻
For me, one of the best 💝 Of course, everyone likes something else. For me, Stokke Xplory is predominantly a city stroller, which suits me 👍
