Stokke Crusi

DISCONTINUED in 2016
The Trailz Classic single-to-double predecessor (tandem mode not so good, though)

The Stokke Crusi is a versatile, high-end stroller or a stroller system. The sturdier chassis with larger foam wheels is primarily suited for city rides but can handle even more challenging conditions. The spacious and easily accessible shopping basket is also an advantage.

The bucket seat is placed high up to allow the child to look around and to provide a closer contact with the parent too. The seat is reversible, can be used as parent or forward-facing. You have three recline options when the seat is parent-facing - upright, semi-reclined and a lie flat, and two positions - upright and semi-reclined way when forward-facing. When not reclined, the seat is very upright. The foot rest does not lift up, but its length can be adjusted. The seat is suitable for children approximately 6 months of age and older, however, using the optional newborn insert, it can be used from birth. For the youngest children, you have the option to purchase a carrycot or a car seat to create the desired combination. The Crusi can be personalized by using seat textile kits (Style Kits) including the summer kit with a sun visor or the insulated winter kit with fur, as well as various other accessories.

With a set of special adapters and a seat also compatible with the Stokke Scoot, the Crusi can be transformed into a tandem stroller for siblings with a small age gap. The second seat can’t be adjusted in this configuration, it will always be in a reclined, almost lying position. Both seats have to be parent-facing. The higher seat must be reclined into the desired position before adding the additional seat as it is not possible to recline neither of them once on the chassis.

At the end of 2016, the Crusi was discontinued and replaced by an already existing model Stokke Trailz in the Classic version, with foam wheels. The main difference is the inability to add the sibling seat. The Crusi carrycot, the seat, and the adapters are the same as on the Trailz.

Excellent

Excellent stroller. We have also added all-terrain wheels. 😍

I would buy it again

4
  • very light
  • easy folding/unfolding
  • parts can be purchased individually
  • large storage space
  • the car seat is safe, large and heavy
  • the seat can be put in 3 positions
  • the bassinet has a perfectly designed canopy
  • the bassinet is spacious enough
  • the pram can be used with ease up to 18m
  • high price
  • the chassis is not sprung, so the child feels every bump in the road

I am generally very satisfied with the pram. It is lightweight, foldable. I have a nice red colour which is combined with white dots on the inside (retro :) ) . The tubeless hard wheels don't get a puncture. I rate positively that the pram is solid and can not be rocked. Everything else I have written down in strengths and weaknesses. However, I can definitely say that I would buy it again ;-)

Of all the strollers I've had so far, this one is the best. It's really light for how sturdy it is, it rides beautifully and the deep bassinet is huge.

Folding is a breeze - although it doesn't go one-handed, which I would need a lot of times, but I would take that as a big bonus :) The stroller also has a big basket and the whole thing is easy to wash.

It is sold automatically with a raincoat and mosquito net. It can also be converted to a sibling stroller, but I haven't tried that... I don't have another baby :)

The only thing that bothers me about the stroller and why I'm looking forward to getting another one is that I have a car trunk full of it 😂 And also - my older sons' little hands combined with the creamy inside of the bassinet sometimes drives me crazy 😂 But it's not the stroller's fault.

I'm going to cry when I sell it

  • Everything :-D
  • Covers can be changed
  • Bucket seating
  • Good positioning
  • Controllability
  • Also great for tall people
  • The child can see well because it sits high
  • I appreciate the idea - summer kits, winter kits, style kits
  • Lots of accessories
  • Design
  • Solid stable frame
  • The only drawback I see is that it is big and bulky - you can't put it in a small trunk 😂 But it's easy to get used to 😉

We've had the stroller for a year and a half now and it's the best stroller we've had. We put all terrain wheels on it - this increased the push comfort.

It's roomy, handles great, has a big basket and I like the bucket seat. My little one, when she was sick and couldn't breathe well, slept all night in the stroller with no problem at all. 💓 I'm going to cry when I sell it 😂😢

  • Easy to push
  • Large space for shopping
  • Pram's load capacity up to 25 kg

I highly recommend it. We also use it for 2 little ones and it handles just fine :)

  • The Stokke brand
  • Foam wheels
  • Hard frame, not much suspension

Okay. A good stroller - it was my first so I didn't know what to expect.

Very good, thoughtful details. Beautiful design, which is paramount for me.

  • Easy to steer
  • Stackable in the car
  • Shopping basket large enough
  • No problem with wheels
  • Easy maintenance
  • Covers could be washed
  • Lots of accessories
  • None

For me a top of the line stroller. My husband himself praised it - despite the price. We also had an Xplory V3, but the Crusi was perfect.

One of the heavier, bulkier ones

3
  • Various kits
  • For terrain
  • Large seating
  • Newborn insert
  • Extended canopy
  • Harder to control
  • Open storage space
  • Belly bar must be detached in its entirety

It's one of the heavier, bulkier ones. You can buy accessories, different kits - and you have a brand new stroller.

If I could, I would choose it again :)

For me definitely the top of the line of strollers. If I could, I would choose it again :)

Your questions about the Stokke Crusi

1)

What’s the maximum age/weight limit for this stroller?

Hi, Nadya,

The official numbers for the weight capacity were - 15 kg in the main seat, 15 kg in the second seat, and 2 kg in the basket. I do think, however, that the stroller should withstand more than those 15 kg in the seat if used as a single, maybe up to 20 kg, but that is just my assumption. However, the seat is not so large as to be spacious enough for a 20kg child. Realistically, you will be using this reversible seat up to 2 and a half - 3 years of the child (a bit less if it is a large, tall toddler).

Hi,

Do you know if the Stokke Crusi is compatible with the Maxi Cosi car seat via an adapter?

Hi, Stacey,

Stokke does not support other than the Stokke Izi Go ar seat to be attached to the Crusi frame because of the pram being a single-to-double = compatible with a second seat.

According to the Stokke official website, "Car seat adapters, such as those available for the Stokke® Xplory® stroller, are not available for the Stokke® Crusi stroller. The reason for this is that the car seat brands which are compatible with Stokke® car seat adapters have harnesses exposed at the back side. This would present a safety concern when such a car seat is used in the sibling configuration of the Stokke® Crusi stroller, as the child seated in the lower seat could grab on to the car seat harness."

I mean, the Crusi should be compatible with the Stokke Trailz Maxi-Cosi/Cybex-style set of adapters (try at stokke.com, at Stokke retailers, or on eBay and similar marketplaces), but it might be a safety concern and it is advisable to use the Stokke IZI Go and IZISleep car seat solution.
