Nuna Triv

The Nuna Triv is a new Nuna brand release for 2020. It's a relatively lightweight and compact mid-size model that meets most of the criteria for a from-birth stroller. The Triv frame is equipped with smaller, but wide wheels that are able to tackle even uneven surfaces. They are, of course, performing the best in an urban environment. The stroller also features individual wheel suspension as well as a specific under-seat suspension system, offering the baby the most comfortable ride it can, even if the conditions are harsher.
The seat unit's backrest can be adjusted in three positions; the laying position not being completely flat, however. The fully reclined angle should be deep enough even for babies not sitting by themselves. The seat is also equipped with padding and a Merino wool insert for breathability and moisture absorbance. After removing the insert, a mesh backrest ready for hot summer days will be exposed, allowing airflow to pass through. A rain cover is also included with the Triv.
Thanks to the seat being foldable in half, the stroller can be folded one-handedly, even with it being attached (in any direction of travel). You can carry the folded package on your arm, thanks to the integrated carry strap. In place of the seat, you can also click on a car seat - the included Ring adapter allows only for the Nuna Pipa car seats to be used with it. The new Ring adapter can be folded even with the chassis - it automatically folds in half when folding the Triv frame. An optional carrycot - the same that is used with the Nuna Mixx line - is also possible to use from newborn. Many sold-separately accessories are also available to complement your Triv with.

Parent reviews of the Nuna Triv
- Basket Big - holds lots
- Looks good
- Folds with footmuff attached
- Curbs - it doesn’t like them
- Restraints not long enough
- Wheels too small
I’ve had the Nuna Triv for a little over 2 years. Thankfully it’s not used daily as I’m Nana. Anyway I bought it for its size as it needs to go in & out of the boot & because it scored extremely highly on Which. Well don’t trust Which quite so much now. In many ways it’s a lovely pushchair. Padded, big basket, forward & parent facing. Easy to fold - though it does get stuck sometimes when trying to get the seat to fold forwards for folding. Would I buy it again? Absolutely not! The big bugbears, and why I wouldn’t buy again are…
It doesn’t like going down curbs at all. The front wheels often get stuck the wrong way round when you hit the tarmac & it’s extremely difficult to get the pushchair moving again. So your child is stuck in the road & you’re struggling to move them swiftly across. The only way to avoid this, is to lift on the back wheels & bump the back wheels down the curb. Even then you can find the front wheels stick in the wrong position sometimes as you put them down again & you’re back to square one. And it doesn’t do your back any good especially as baby turns to toddler.
Secondly the magnetic straps are nice and it’s easy to move them up & down BUT by the time my grandchild was 2 they just weren’t long enough! Even at the full extend you can get. So the only way to buckle them up was to have the straps over the arms instead of shoulders. Add a thick jumper or coat & things are even worse. Toddlers are not keen on having their arms pinned to their sides.
Thirdly... and this is a niggle as opposed to a reason not to buy... because the wheels are small I guess, they get grit or mud stuck in them all the time. It just doesn’t shift & is difficult to dislodge. And no I don’t go anywhere extreme. Just the park.
I can’t believe Which have scored this so highly and I notice they’ve scored the updated Triv Next just as high. Unless they’ve updated / extended the straps on the Triv Next, I’d certainly avoid that one too.
- Looks good
- Compact
- Rocks when pushing
- Pulls to side
- So difficult to steer, need two firm hands
- Front wheels don’t swivel well
- Small open basket
- No accessories options
- £500 for the drama
- Don’t recommend it to anyone
- Fabric attracts dust
- Small hood I less fully extended
- Rain cover doesn’t fit onto anything
Sending it back after less than a week, If I had to keep it I’d cry.
- look
- compactness (for a reversible)
- stability
- price
- canopy
- leg rest (short)
We bought a 500 GBP worth Nuna Triv not too long ago. I wish we'd buy something less expensive since it didn't fulfill my expectations at all. The narrow rear axle makes it prone to flip to the side, so you always need to hold your pushchair with both hands. Also, my daughter's feet are hanging from the leg rest, and she's not that big yet. I'd wish the canopy was bigger and it wouldn't extend by a mesh-only section since when in lie-flat mode, the wind and cold go through on my little girl's head. The Triv is not all-terrain at all, from my point of view, and the popping up curbs is difficult and feels like straining the frame a bit too much.
I wanted something smaller after our first - bulky stroller system to use everyday and travel with as well. I am, however, not happy with what we got and wish we'd go for something forward-facing...
Your questions about the Nuna Triv
How does the Triv compare to the new Triv Next?
Hiya, Stacy,
Don't really expect too many changes in the Triv Next, as essentially, the pushchair is very similar to the original. The change on the attachment of the rear wheels and a bit larger rear wheels will definitely improve the stability though; other than that (just the correction of a flaw of the first gen which should not even be boasted about and be naturally present), only the spring suspension under the seat for a smoother ride for the little one (parent won't feel it much) and the new MagneTech secure snap™ - an easier, magnetic buckle that automatically locks into place will make your life easier with the Triv Next. Oh and there's the availability of the Maxi-Cosi style car seat adapters, on which the Nuna Triv Next's carrycot will be attached, too (making that carrycot possible to attach on different stroller frames, which is cool), but that is not something that would change the stroller's features.
Definitely nice improvements, though nothing groundbreaking, except perhaps for the stability and the larger rear wheels - expect a compact, reversible urban pushchair nicely padded and comfortable, especially for smaller babies. If that is what you seek, it is definitely a better choice than the first iteration.
Is it really that bad with the existing parent reviews??
Hi, Andrea,
Every stroller and it's "goodness", design, features, quality depend on the needs of the parent - and how the stroller fulfilled those. Overall, though, this stroller disappointed me with the reviews, too, as I thought it will be better, more practical, but it isn't. Somehow the stability and the drive are not great, so, yeah... it is bad, I guess, from that point of view. I mean, in that category, I wouldn't pick it - I'd rather go with the [cybex-mios-3|Cybex Mios]] or the Joolz Hub.
There is no information about the seat measurements. Could you please update?
Hiya, Mh,
The thing is, the manufacturer is not providing these dimensions and we did not yet get our hands on one - thus, the seat measurements are not yet in. We will update them as soon as we got any that are actual and real.
If you ever get your hands on one and will get the measurements, we'll also be super grateful for the information, just send them over here to eat@strollberry.com <3
What are the internal dimensions of the carrycot (in cm)?
Hello, there!
The Nuna Triv's dimensions, measurements of the seat as well as cabassinet's mattress, and more can be opened after clicking on the stroller specifications.
The carrycot's internal measurement is 75 x 30 cm.
