Stokke Trailz Classic
.eli
The Stokke Trailz Classic is a newer iteration of the original Stokke Trailz with urban EVA foam-covered wheels, replacing the Stokke Crusi stroller. Since the carrycot, seat unit, and adapters are the same as on the Crusi, the replacement of the model lines is not that big of a change. The most prominent difference between the Trailz Classic and the original Crusi is that the Trailz is not compatible with the second - tandem seat as the Crusi was.
The Trailz Classic is a sturdy, high-end stroller suitable best for the city streets but also made to tackle worse surfaces and conditions. The all-terrain, inflatable wheels of the Trailz Terrain can be bought separately if you'd need that. A huge advantage of the Trailz Classic is the large, accessible storage basket.
The bucket seat unit is high-positioned, parent- as well as world-facing, and it can be used as parent or forward-facing. You have three recline options when the seat is parent-facing - upright, semi-reclined, and a lie flat, and two positions - completely upright and semi-reclined when forward-facing. The footrest does not lift up, but its length can be adjusted. The seat is suitable for children approximately 6 months of age and older; however, using the optional newborn insert, it can be used from birth. A carrycot, as well as a car seat with adapters, can also be added to the chassis (some Stokke car seat models don't need the adapters). You can mix and match your stroller's style by changing the seat covers, Summer kits with an extra sun visor on the sun hood, warm and cozy Winter kits with fur, and many more optional accessories.

Parent reviews of the Stokke Trailz Classic
- beautiful
- sturdy
- large wheels
- upright seat
- basket access
- double setup is simply bad (and we got this one for the tandem possibility..)
- older child is cramped
- foam wheels show wear over time
- incredibly bulky
- expensive
The second seat is incredibly cramped and impractical to use. As a single full-size, recommended (for tall-ish parents mostly), as a double, it's a no-no.
- Sturdy, stable chassis
- Large and spacious carrycot with an extendable sun canopy
- Large shopping basket
- The stroller is on the heavier side as the chassis is made from aluminum
For me, this is the best stroller. Its chassis is very durable and stable, with no rattling plastics. We were planning to buy off-road wheels later; however, it wasn't necessary at all, as we were using the stroller with the classic ones a lot and never had a problem with bad terrain.
The carrycot is very large and spacious. Another advantage is also the extended sun canopy, which I really appreciated during the summer. The storage space underneath the stroller is also great, as it is waterproof and you can fit a lot of stuff inside.
It is very easy to fold the Trailz. The only disadvantage is the fact that it is a little bit heavier. However, this is due to the high-quality aluminum chassis. I would definitely buy this stroller again, as I find it perfect.
Your questions about the Stokke Trailz Classic
Where can I find this baby pushchair to buy? Thank you!
Hi, Kristi,
The manufacturer, Stokke, went on and discontinued the Stokke Trailz this year, so it is possible it's simply sold out (and there seems to be no restocking in the future).
I would certainly check classifieds and bought a pre-owned, second-hand stroller - with a bit of cleaning and maintenance, this should last you very long still as it's a well-made, quality model.
Sorry for the not-so-good news... in any case, do check the Uppababy Vista, the Bugaboo Fox 3 or the Joolz Day Plus if trukly needing a new one - these should be rather comparable, quality-wise...
