Joie Aeria
.eli
The Joie Aeria is a summer 2021 release and the first Joie stroller with a height-adjustable seat unit. Like its predecessors, the Versatrax/Finiti, it's a predominantly urban, full-featured stroller that is also available or optionally complemented to be a modular stroller system suitable from birth until the child weighs 22 kg. Of course, as a reversible model, it is highly unlikely it will last until such size - space-wise, you won't fit a 4 to 5-year-old in the Aeria seat.
The unique feature of the Aeria by Joie is the frame with an attachment system that can adjust in height, thus moving the reversible, well-padded, fully reclinable lie-flat seat unit (or any other part, like the bassinet or the car seat) up or down to enhance bonding as well as the child's view. There are four height settings available. The frame is rather wide, but apart from the larger wheels with all-wheel suspension, it also features an added seat suspension as all luxury strollers from Joie's Signature collection do.
The seat also boasts a magnetic buckle and a very large, waterproof, UV protective canopy with ventilation panels as well as a sun visor. You'll also appreciate a telescopic handlebar, leatherette details, and an accessible storage basket with a divider and an extra closable pocket in the lower part of the chassis.
For your newborn, not only the optional, spacious, while rather simple Ramble XL carrycot is available. With adapters, you can attach a GEMMA, i-GEMMA, i-Level, or i-Snug car seat (or any Maxi-Cosi/Cybex attachment-style car seat).

Parent reviews of the Joie Aeria
Absolutely awful item for the money it costs. As someone mentioned above there is clearly a manufacturing problem, the front wheels do not click in place and general use is poor i.e. when attempting to fold up! Did not find it user friendly whatsoever.
- easy to ride
- spacious
- the back fold and sleeping position
I do not recommend the Joie Aeria, there is a very obvious production error with this buggy. Joie needs to call back all the buggies and fix the issue first. It is impossible to lean the back down, because the baby easily stands itself up. We had to tie the back with a rope to the tires to be able to sleep our baby. Totally unacceptable for such an expensive buggy.
- Fabrics
- Padding
- Canopy
- Buckle
- Seat goes higher - closer to you
- Price
- Wobbly
- Short seat
I love it on paper - I mean, the height-adjustable seat is GENIUS! But it, at the same time, feels wobbly at those points where it moves. Also, the seat is short in my opinion. No way it will fit a 20+ kg kid.
On the other hand, the fabric quality, the padding, and the buckle are life savers. The hood is HUGE! And the handle adjusts so my taller hubby is happy too.
Overall, mixed feelings but the price was good enough, so it's an OK compromise for me, and a beautiful pram as well.
- nicely padded
- awesome hood
- love it! 😍
Loving this pushchair. So nicely padded. And the hood!
We were deciding between this one and the Finiti. I mean, we went for the Aeria as it's newer and it has the height adjustment... and I thought that after giving birth, the child closer to me and less bending will be nice. It is so, but... I am a bit afraid how long will those joints last. Certainly not till 20kg, or..? It could certainly be sturdier. To add to that, the seat is narrower and overall a bit smaller than the Finiti's. But a good choice nonetheless... I hope.
- Practical
- Nice to drive
- Large basket
- Buckle is easy to operate
- Seat moves up and down and faces the parent as well as the world
- Folds with the seat attached (the rear position is awkward to fold, however)
- Seat liner included
- VERY WIDE FRAME (doesn't fit narrow doorways)
- Bulky fold
What a cool stroller! Practical and good to push.
Your questions about the Joie Aeria
1. Is it easy to put front wheels on a sidewalk or through a doorstep?
2. And is it maneuverable and smooth to drive?
3. Does it drives smoothly, more or less, on a grass and non-asphalt roads?
Hey, Ing,
To lift the stroller up a curb, you only need to have the handle well set up, meaning on the lowest comfortable position. Strollers with rotating handlebars are normally easy to be lifted up a curb so that should not be a problem.
About the maneuverability and terrain, I heard multiple parents tell me the front wheels are not clicking super well into place, so they become rattly on worse terrain. The stroller itself should push ok, not specifically smooth as it's a reversible seater which changes the center of gravity but not really hard to push, however it did not prove itself on worse terrains honestly.
Does it include car seat?
I bought it thinking that in the package, it would come with the car seat and newborn travel cot with it. Does it come with them?
Hi, Morium,
The Aeria is sold in multiple types of sets, also as a standalone pushchair (which is the normal state of selling it, with the bassinet and car seat adapters being optional) - but some places also as a stroller system with a carrycot, or with a carrycot, adapters, potentially a car seat. You need to check the listing on the web where you bought it, as that determines what should have come included.
Hello,
What are the sitting surface dimensions?
Hiya, Bruno,
The manufacturer didn't make this information public, and I don't really have it at hand so I cannot tell you exactly, BUT the seat is very very similar to the one of Joie Versatrax/Joie Finiti, so you can take those seats as a reference, as it really is not much of a difference in spaciousness between these models. The seat should last you at least up to 2-2.5 years of the child.
