Your questions about the Easywalker Jackey XL
Hi! I have a question regarding the stroller mentioned. It's a rather straightforward thing. I've seen and touched one of those strollers and the seat felt rather hard to the touch. Are they comfortable enough for the child or should we consider a pad of sorts, maybe reconsider as a whole?
Heya,
Yeah, this is knd of a second stroller, definitely not one you should use as an only stroller for everyday, multi-hour use. It's more meant for shopping, traveling, etc., and as such, and considering the small folded size, it's on the simpler side. I personally found it a bit more padded than an average model of this size, but you cannot expect it to be the same sturdy and luxury for the chil as a lager model.
I believe you can absolutely use it just so, with a child. But if you or the child felt uncomfortable, you can always use an insert pad - seat liner to make it a but better. It may be it will be a bit harder to finish the fold with one, though.
Hello!
This stroller is advertised as an appropriate choice for tall persons. Do you think Jackey XL is suitable for shorter parents too? Thank you! Nasy
Hey, Nasy,
I don't think it's a huge stroller, so in theory should not be a burden for shorter parents. However, that tall-parents targeting is based on the taller handle (at about 109cm), while it is not adjustable, so it may be it will be way too tall for you, especially if you'd be extra short.
Ideally, try it out in a shop, as it truly can be a bother - but it doesn't have to be, depending how tall you really are, and what is your style of pushing.
Hi!
Do you know, if it´s possible to use wheels from the Jackey XL for a regular Jackey? Thank you! Eva
Hey, Eva!
I don't think you can use those, no. The frame was changed a bit to accommodate larger wheels and will not work properly with the larger ones. Unless the manufacturer says otherwise (which they don't, as far as I know), I definitely wouldn't try to use those on the basic Jackey.
Hi Eli,
First of all thanks for this great website! Now our situation: we’ve got a Thule Urban Glide, which is nice for countryside walks and running, but it is also very big, so I don’t like it for the day-to-day things. That’s why we are looking for a second one for e.g. going to the shops, playground, small walks (also on uneven pavements) and a bit of travelling.
Do you think the Easywalker Jackey XL is a good fit? I like the design but find it’s slightly too high for me, but the wheels of the Jackey might be too small? I’ve also tried the ABC Design Avus but I find it too bulky, as well as the Cybex Eezy +2, of which I don’t like the design. I do like the Joolz Aer but am I right in thinking the comfort for the child (our son is 1 year old) is not as good, and with the smaller wheels, it’s less versatile?
Long Story Short, would you recommend the Jackey XL, the Joolz Aer or do you have another idea? Thank you so much for your help! Maria
Hiya, Maria,
You are right that the larger wheels on the Jackey XL are nice for bumps, however the stroller stays a really compact, quite a slanted stroller, so you cannot expect super much comfort from it on bumps not for your son. Not that it would be uncomfortable, just not your everyday do-it-all stroller, I would say. But it should work ok as a second stroller for undemanding use and occasional bumps.
I personally would, however, probably choose Aer for that. You are right, the wheels are smaller meaning more struggle with large bumps or potholes, however the stroller is made a little better, sturdier, and it had a taller seatback meaning a longer time of use. With a 1 year old, I would not be too scared of the fact that it doesn't lie flat, I mean, for 1+ a partial recline, unless you know your kid and he would hate sleeping in any other than a completely horizontal position, should just be ok. Also, you will sell it better after you will be done with it.
I personally, at least if you mean to use it pretty much on a daily basis (eventually), would probably go for something a tad larger than this. I understand your need for a small stroller, but parents, and often the children can suffer a bit in these narrow, rattly or wobbly ultracompacts, so perhaps thinking about something the size of at least the TFK Dot or a Oyster Zero could be a good idea.
