Stokke Xplory X
The Stokke Xplory X is a 2021 relaunch of the iconic, high-end, flagship Stokke model typical for a single bar in the center of the chassis as well as a high-positioned, height-adjustable, table-height-friendly seat unit.
Stokke Xplory X changes and differences:
With the new range of runway-inspired colorways offering everything from bright & bold to classic & chic, the Xplory pram/pushchair option tries to complement your life (not only) through underlining your personal style. To add to it, the fabrics used on the Xplory X line are soft, water-repellent, UV protective, and feature environmentally friendly Bionic Finish Eco coating as well as ventilation mesh in the canopy. The modernized bucket-type seat unit design with a more-airy-than-ever leg rest, the enhanced canopy with a cleaner-connected design of the sun visor, and sleek, crisp lines that are complemented by a similarly updated carrycot. Apart from the renewed looks, the Xplory X boasts a higher, 22kg maximum weight capacity, and of course, an updated basket - larger, more stylish, and with a new zip-closing system, finally reminding more of a basket and less of a bag (you can detach it and carry it by the side handle in the form of a handbag, though) ;-)
More changes from the previous Stokke Xplory V6 generation include handlebar adjustment buttons in black that bring a cleaner feel of the look; 360° reflective zipper; removable front wheels; a silently adjusting canopy (no noise while you pull it up or down); a new system of carrycot leg cover attachment (zipper instead of snaps) and its neater look with a different - luxurious finish; then, seat unit's side covered with textiles meaning less plastic and more color; a simplified harness buckle with every strap attached to it individually - as well as shoulder pads secured to the harness, so they don't slide down.
The padded seat is fully reversible and offers three recline positions (sleep, rest, and active). By itself, it is suitable from six months up - you can, however, use the new (and included) breathable and heavily padded wedged insert for the smallest babies to be able to ride in the pushchair directly while being better supported. There's, of course, the practical, cozy carrycot with bumper bar, pockets, and a heightened apron, and a travel system (car seat on adapters, or Stokke Pipa without adapters) option to go for a full stroller system with your newborn. The X Carry Cot bassinet uses the hood from the seat unit, so don't be surprised if you get your bassinet without one - you need to be moving it to the part you'll currently be using. A wide range of accessories is available to optionally purchase separately - including the updated matching changing backpacks.
The Xplory X stroller was awarded the Best of the Best 2021 Red Dot design award.

Parent reviews of the Stokke Xplory X
- it’s elegant, stylish, unique
- it’s height-adjustable and an incredible view for the child - and in the parent-facing mode, very bonding-friendly
- it has a bucket-shaped, upright seat unit
- = it’s so worth the money, style-wise - the most eye-catching, trend-setting ‘accessory’ you can find
- it’s on the heavy side
- it’s bulky
- it’s really expensive
- it doesn’t recline fully when world-facing, and the leg rest doesn’t adjust upward
- the basket is not the most spacious - but it’s enough for us
It’s incredibly stylish - every head turns to look at us. Also, it pushes comfortably on the streets - even if not the smoothest since the suspension is kind of missing from my point of view. My talk hubby loves that he doesn’t look like pushing a doll pram. Also, the seat is quite roomy (I don’t think it will manage a 22kg child, however), with an upright seatback, and comfy - beautifully padded.
To the downsides, it’s on the heavy side. And you do need a large boot to be able to drive with it in your car. But if that doesn’t bother you, and you’re in for something stylish, you can’t get anything cooler, really.
