Stokke Xplory V6
.eli
The Stokke Xplory V6 is the sixth generation of the unique high-end stroller that is also the best known Stokke stroller, released for 2018. The iconic design with the single bar in the center of the chassis, the height-adjustable seat, and the bag form of the shopping basket divides opinions and makes the Xplory V6 the most popular as well as the most condemned urban stroller. The most noticeable improvement of the V6 is the full, fixed leg rest that provides more support. The hood of the V6 is extended by a sun visor as well as by unzipping an extra part. Another added function is the possibility to click the carrycot, the seat, or the car seat on/off the chassis easier, similarly to the function of memory buttons. The chassis can now be transformed to a two-wheeled version in just one step, so you don't need to push the button on the bottom of the chassis with your foot. The handlebar and the bumper bar now come in black or brown leatherette, while the bumper bar now features a swing-away function. The carrycot has also been improved. The whole carrycot is covered in fabric and comes with a moisture-resistant mattress with Sorona fibers and a simpler safety lock. For easier transport, you can add the bumper bar from the seat to the carrycot. The shopping bag was also redesigned. The zip-out, waterproof shopping bag of the V6 looks more like a shopping basket rather than a bag. The Xplory V6 features sturdy yet lightweight black wheels, similar to the V5.
The bucket-type seat is placed high up to allow the child to look around and to provide closer contact with the parent too. The seat is reversible, and you have three recline options when the seat is parent-facing - upright, semi-reclined, and a lie-flat, and two positions - upright and semi-reclined, when forward-facing. When not reclined, the seat is very upright. The leg rest does not lift, but its length can be adjusted. The seat is suitable for children from approximately six months of age up; however, using the optional newborn insert (it is included with the V6), it can be used from birth. For the youngest children, you have an option to purchase a carrycot or a car seat to create the desired combination. The Xplory V6 can be personalized by using seat textile kits, including the summer kit with a sun visor or the insulated winter kit with fur. There are various other accessories available, including the Sibling Board. When not in use, the Sibling Board connects (lifted) to the Stokke Xplory chassis by a magnet with a new, engraved Stokke logo.

Parent reviews of the Stokke Xplory V6
- Unusual design
- The chassis doesn't scratch easily, compared to other - metal - strollers
- Large carrycot
- Many accessories available
- Driveability
- One-handed manipulation
- Stable
- Quite heavy
- It takes up a lot of space in the trunk of our car, as it is a two-piece fold
Our Stokke can pass through everything, even the worst of terrains. Going through rocky surfaces, it made no difference really - using another stroller with soft suspension, or the Stokke, we passed with both, and it made not much of a difference. Moreover, my son loves to be 'shaken' a bit.
- Extendable hood
- Ease of manipulation
- Easy to fold
- Leather bumper bar
- Reversible seat
- Locking feature of the wheels
- Better quality of the wheels
- Reflective elements
- Footrest
- High-quality textiles
- Shopping bag
- Height-adjustable seat
- Price
The Stokke Xplory V6 is perfection on its own. Some love it, and some hate it... Nonetheless, it's a beautiful, elaborate piece! Compared to the older versions of Xplory, this one is incredible.
A high-quality, swing-away bumper bar. Handlebar for parents is also made from leather, which makes it much nicer to touch :-) Improved quality of wheels.
The seat is large -truly suitable for a three-year-old child. The footrest is much better than the older versions - soft and more comfortable. At first glance, it doesn't look that tempting, but over time, you will come to like it more than the previous one 🤣
I can unclick the seat of the chassis very easily, no need to remove anything anywhere.
The chassis is more resistant to scratches (better "lacquer"). The shopping bag is really spacious 😊 Whenever I went shopping I could easily fit all the stuff inside it!
Your questions about the Stokke Xplory V6
Hi.
I have Stokke Xplory V6 and I bought a second hand carrycot but it is Stokke X. It attaches fine on the stroller but I can't put the canopy on the carrycot. What can I do?
Hey, Eleanor,
You just have to get the right carrycot canopy, it seems. Apart from checking in classifieds and on eBay (where you will probably find it, btw), you can also contact Stokke's customer service and ask about the availability of spare parts. That same customer service, or the person you bought the carrycot from, should be able to help you establish what version (generation) your carrycot is from (to find the right canopy for it).
