Stokke Xplory V4
.eli
The Stoke Xplory V4 is the fourth generation of the unique high-end stroller and the best-known Stokke model, released in 2014. The iconic design with the single bar in the center of the chassis, the height-adjustable seat and the bag form of the shopping basket divides opinions and makes the Xplory the most popular as well as the most condemned urban stroller. The V4 version features a simplified folding button and the option of locking the front wheels. The front wheels are fastened on new, dark brackets instead of light greys. You can attach the cup holder directly to the handle without the need for an additional adapter. The bag can be attached directly to the chassis using integrated clips, without the need to wrap it around the central bar. The central brake situated at the bottom right was changed to a more rounded shape. The lower front Stokke logo has also been changed from the grey one to the highlighted orange one. The newer model doesn’t feature the rear lower logo at all.
The bucket seat is reversible, can be used as parent or forward-facing. You have three recline options when the seat is parent-facing - upright, semi-reclined and a lie flat, and two positions - upright and semi-reclined way when forward-facing. When not reclined, the seat is very upright. The foot rest does not lift up, but its length can be adjusted. The seat is suitable for children approximately 6 months of age and older, however, using the optional newborn insert, it can be used from birth. You can put your newborn in the original, sold-separately Xplory carrycot divided in the baby’s feet area, or in an optional car seat. The stroller can be personalized by using seat textile kits (Style Kits) including the summer kit with a sun visor or the insulated winter kit with fur, as well as various other accessories. The V4’s True Black edition is one of the most well-known limited editions of the Xplory. The True Black was released in 2015 and features a black fabric and an all-black chassis.

Parent reviews of the Stokke Xplory V4
- possibility to change color combinations
- light
- easy to handle
- comfortable design
- comfortable seating for baby
- comfortable handling of the stroller
- purchase price
- easily scratched chassis
I was very satisfied - especially the possibility to "colour it up" according to my ideas... I changed it according to my mood and weather :-) The best stroller I have ever had!
- Design
- Quality
- Functionality
- Accessories
- I didn't find any cons
We had more than one type of chassis from Stokke during the "stroller" process, in the end the Trailz stayed with us in the house because of the terrain in the village – the Xplory chassis was for the car :-) <3
- Design
- Execution
- A lot of accessories available
- Originality
- Weaker frame, compared to the V5
- Wheen color
I recommend it, but I prefer the V5 - I think their chassis is better quality.
- Lightweight
- Easy folding
- One-handed handling
- Perfection
The best stroller on the market. We had two. Lots of accessories, options, seat recline, overall variability 👍
- Lovely look
- Suitable for the city
- Positionable
- Adaptable to mum's height - also seat height for baby
- Not suitable for frequent travel - lots of folding and unfolding
I was very happy - the stroller met my expectations. I would stay loyal to this brand with my next child.
- Stylish
- Nothing
Beautiful, perfect. For me the best stroller.
- Stylish
- Comfortable
- All fabric parts can be easily removed and washed
- Only on straight roads, it didn't handle bumpy ones very well
- When folding it into the car, it cannot be folded in one go - you need to remove the apron first, then the seat itself and finally the frame, to compare with the current Joie Litetrax - there, folding is much easier, it folds in one go
Quite happy with it. We had it first with our first daughter (only as a pushchair), with our second from the beginning with the carry cot.

Our precious :) A great pram. I tried over 15 of them, but Stokke won by all means.
It's sturdy, easy to handle. I have nothing to complain about. I can customize it as I want. You can change the design with the style kits.
Perfection 😊 It's just love 😍❤️
So far the best I've had...
Your questions about the Stokke Xplory V4
Hi,
we got a Stokke Xplory V4 and we want adapt our auto seat (Chicco KeyFit (EU)) to the V4. Could you inform us which adapter we shall buy? thanks and regards. Molly
Hi, molly,
I will disappoint you, I am sorry, but the Xplory line doesn't accept any Chicco car seats. It only can fit the dedicated Stokke version car seat OR Maxi-Cosi/Cybex/Recaro/Kiddy/Nuna/Joie car seats with the Maxi-Cosy/Cybex adapters.
My Stokke hood has faded and a logo peeled off is it possible to get a new one? I know Stokke used to sell as spare parts, but I can’t see them anymore.
Hi, Vikki,
For that, you need to contact Stokke's customer service or search in classifieds. The Xplory, even if a newer one, was still available so it should be possible to get at least some replacement parts - I have put together THIS spare/replacement parts article I recommend you to read to know more about getting those, but... most info you can get is directly from Stokke here, I cannot help you more.
Can I still buy a carrycot to go on this chassis please?
Hi, Ange,
Well, yes, you should be able to get a carrycot for the Stokke Xplory line - in any shop that still sells Stokke strollers. I mean, the newer bassinets should still fit! Best is, of course, trying out at the store. Or you can always ask the store for the availability of the older type carrycot, they might be able to order one as a spare part.
Next in line, if you have an older Xplory model, you should always go through classifieds and get a carrycot second-hand- I mean, one uses the particular Xplory carrycot about 4 months and with a small baby that pretty much lies inside only, so it should still look like new even.
Or browse eBay ad look what's up out there.
These are the things I would do, at least 😉
I have lost my Stokke stroller V4 bumper bar. Where can I buy another one?
Hey there, Greg,
I would either contact any Stokke seller in your area, asking for this spae part to be ordered for you (they probably will do that, usually for a fee)... Or try to contact the manufacturer - Stokke - directly with your problem.
They do push the customers to claim their warranties and any spare parts question to the sellers and distributors in their countries, so I would start with that - searching which stores sell Stokke prams around you and ask them for help.
