Silver Cross Spirit

The Mios-inspired, reversible compact star
.eli

The Silver Cross Spirit is a comfortable and lightweight urban stroller combining all the currently trending advantages. In addition to the modern, toned-down design, the stroller can be folded one-handedly, even with the seat attached in any direction to a compact size. The Spirit introduces the well-ventilated mesh backrest, perfect for hot days. You can cover the mesh with the soft seat liner that is included with the Spirit. This summer-ready stroller also features UV protective fabric.

Paired with the optional baby cocoon, the Spirit is suitable from birth. Later on, the cocoon can be transformed into a winter footmuff. Reversing the seat without the need to push any buttons is another extra feature of the Spirit.

The wheels are smaller in size, but thanks to spring suspension on each of them, the Spirit offers a smooth urban ride. You will also appreciate the spacious, easy-access shopping basket and the rain cover and mosquito net included with the stroller. The adapters for Silver Cross Simplicity and other car seat brands with Maxi-Cosi type of attachment are available to buy optionally. The Spirit makes an excellent companion for those parents looking for a practical, compact urban solution from birth without the need for a conventional carrycot - nice for, for example, a spring baby.

The hood wants to keep folding down.

I love the Spirit. But having trouble with the hood. It wants to keep folding down.

  • Lightweight
  • Easy to manoeuvre
  • Quick fold
  • All above pointed out

It’s cool and lightweight, good for town - not for hills and bumps so much… would be better to have longer canopy especially in the lying position… and seems too small sit area or my baby just too big. Can’t find original accessories and included raincover, it seem like doesn’t even fit properly… It was so easy to manoeuvre but after few months it’s really hard to turn the front wheels which is properly annoying me.

Really loved this pushchair and was expensive too, so was expecting bit more of it, but now just thinking to get another one for my 12month old even though have had it just a few months now.

The wheels are simply fabulous

We own the Silver Cross Spirit, and we love it. The wheels are simply fabulous. I highly recommend it.

  • compact
  • pretty
  • quality fabrics
  • small seat
  • not all-terrain
  • expensive

Nice urban "vehicle" for the beginning. I find the seat a bit too short, mainly in the leg rest area. I would guess good for a year and a half, small child maybe two years...

My husband hates how low to the ground it is; he says it looks like a doll pram and also, ho kicks the rear axle (he's tall). I do love the looks, it pushes nicely, but the hood in the reclined position is not covering the baby enough.

Nice, but a bit pricey for what it is

Nice, but a bit pricey for what it is. A beautiful urban stroller for a mum that needs to see her little one. I like the one-hand, compact fold, and it's spacious enough for my boy. Wheels are what I like the most.

  • compactness&fold
  • weight
  • basket
  • ventilation
  • possibility of soft insert carrycot
  • quality (and pretty), thick wheels
  • canopy could be longer, especially while in the lying position
  • not much for harsher terrain, but the occasional bumps are alright

I love how small, lightweight, and compact it is. It seems to me a bit like it's a Cybex Mios ripoff but from a well-established brand as well as very well-made. The people from Silver Cross took a good design and put there something from themselves. Happy about the ventilation backrest, very nice, quality wheels (more robust than the Mios') with suspension, and the larger basket. I don't think one could fit a 22kg child there, but it is spacious enough. I'd also make the canopy even larger, but I'd do the same with the Mios.

Your questions about the Silver Cross Spirit

1)

Hello,

I have this one for a few months now and can’t get the original foot muff anywhere… Was ok - cocoon before, but now when the baby is bigger, I need something else. I have few of them sSlver Cross muffs but none would fit as should. I want some to fit and look nice and be big enough

Hey, Majchy,

I cannot find any original footmuff to this anywhere. I believe you should try and contact the Silver Cross customer service and ask them about the availability, but I myself would most probably go for a better universal footmuff, honestly - they are usually more spacious. My personal preference is the Lodger Bunker that fits very nicely into most pushchairs, but mums also like Elodie Details footmuffs quite a lot, too. Ir try and visit a baby store and check the fit of different universal footmuffs in person.

Can we attach a universal stand/sit board to it?

Hi, Vikram,

A good universal board like a Lascal or a Bumprider can be attached, yes. It will, however, worsen maneuverability and take up the space for your steps considerably.

Hello, which cup holder would you recommend for the Spirit Silver Cross Pram please?

Hi, Marie,

I would go for any universal better one. Just check Amazon, there's plenty to choose, though my personal preference in brands are Dooky, Diono or Skip Hop. Most will do, however, to be honest, so just check the reviews - if it's a universal one, it should work.

Hi,

I have the Spirit and want to attach my Maxi Cosi car seat to it. I can't seem to find an adaptor could you post a link. I live in th UK and getting really desperate

Heya, Lommźy,

If you cannot find an adaptor around you, it might be the manufacturer has paused them either for a problem or simply because of the availability of parts. The best is to write to Silver Cross' customer service and ask about the availability themselves, or try and contact any seller/distributor of the Spirit - they just might be able to order that for you.

Hi,

I've just purchased the Silver Cross Spirit stroller and Silver Cross Simplicity plus car seat. Not too sure what car seat adapters I’m gonna need to attach the car seat to the chassis as have come across some universal ones and some much smaller ones, any advice would be much appreciated.

Thankyou ☺️

Hi, Danielle,

You need dedicated Spirit adaptors for the Simplicity car seat line. I am attaching the picture of how they look:

The best you can do before buying is to contact the seller and make sure you are purchasing the right ones - the need to have the lower part specifically made for the Silver Cross Spirit pushchair, and the upper part for the Silver Cross line of car seats.

Also good to know: usually, the seller that sold you the pushchair and the car seat will have the adapters in stock OR will be able to order them.

And watch out, the 'universal' car seat adapters are for Maxi-Cosi/Cybex car seats.
