parents say thx^^
  • spacious cot and seat, too
  • solid, sturdy chassis that really rocks
  • large inflatable wheels
  • canopy without extension and without ventilation
  • the handle cannot be positioned, it will suit rather taller people
  • wire basket, need to watch out for smaller objects and puddles :-)
  • outdated and impractical system of putting on the cot/seat
  • unbraking can damage shoes
  • larger size even after folding

I had a Roan Marita Elegance (it has smaller wheels than the Prestige). I used it to put my little one to sleep on the terrace. It is perfect for this purpose as it rocks wonderfully.

The stroller has a huge spacious cot and also the seat. The cot - bassinet is really deep and fits a one year old baby just fine. The seat can be clicked on in both forward and rearward facing directions and is really spacious, especially in width. The canopy is common for both parts, without the possibility of extension, and - what I missed - was the mesh part in the canopy (especially on hot days).

The frame is sturdy and solid, with large inflatable wheels. It can handle rough terrain, but it has one downside - the handle cannot be positioned. It's quite high, so a shorter mum will have it in the height of her chest when strolling.

The basket is just wire, so smaller items will fall out of it. Alternatively, if you go through puddles, the contents of the basket will be splashed. But, what surprised me, it doesn't rattle at all.

The stroller is quite large even when folded. The wheels tend to catch rust and you also have to watch out for the covers, which fade quite quickly. What bothered me about the stroller was probably the outdated system of attaching the cot/seat to the chassis. Two pins on each side that have to be hit into the frame to fit (this system was used when I was riding in the stroller :-D) - it's quite impractical and makes a clicking sound when the stroller is rocked harder. It's a shame, because apart from that the stroller really is absolutely silent. And also the unbraking is quite strangely designed - it can damage shoes, or if I was wearing only sandals I would be afraid of hurting myself.

  • spacious
  • big wheels
  • swingy
  • heavy
  • cannot be manoeuvred with one hand (in rain, etc.)
  • I missed a canopy extension
  • I also missed a mesh for ventilation in summer
  • takes up a lot of space in the car

The stroller is really very spacious - especially the cot was great in winter. I missed the possibility of extending the canopy, especially in the wind and sun. I had to use a diaper or a sun visor. The wheels for winter were great, we could handle any terrain. But now that my daughter is bigger, I'm looking for a lighter pushchair - because it's a pain with this one. Also, when it rains, you can't maneuver it with one hand.

We were happy with it. Especially with the carry cot, which we used for 9 months. For my next baby I would choose a similar one, but with more modern features - like the Roan Emma.

  • rocking stroller
  • large inflatable wheels, can be repaired in case of a puncture
  • extra large bassinet
  • nice big storage compartment
  • the bassinet is adjustable, a great thing for babies with reflux
  • the seat is reclinable
  • no one hand pushing

Amazing pram - you can rock your baby to sleep in it. But as a pushchair - loading and unloading in and out of the car is difficult; and when I have the baby in my arms, it is impossible to manipulate - you lose your arms.

  • Traverses any terrain
  • Beautifully rocking
  • Can look smart, elegant in the city
  • Unbreakable :-)
  • Bulkiness

We consider this stroller to be the absolute top of the range. The only downside is its poor storage, but it's an unbreakable tank that also manages to look very elegant.

  • Great suspension
  • Spacious bassinet
  • Large air-filled wheels
  • Heavy
  • Bad folding, too bulky

Deep spacious bassinet, fits even a fat cosytoes. It has a reclining bottom and harness belts. The seat reverses in both directions, can be laid completely flat, even with an adjustable footrest. The wheels are huge and inflatable, nothing has happened to them in three years.

It's fine as a rocking stroller for the woods and fields, but I wouldn't want it in the city. It's a tank, it's bulky, not ideal for transporting in the car. The big carrycot is fine, the seat unit is worse. The canopy fades out quickly (compared to the rest of the stroller). We have a second hand one at each grandmother's.

I was wondering if they still don't make the blue one as I’m having a boy and I had the pink one for my little girl years ago.

  • Sturdy
  • Carries loads
  • Bulky
  • Heavy

It's difficult to say much about the carrycot part as our baby always hated being in the pram so we've carried her in a baby carrier for the first 5 months! Plus the pram is pretty heavy and I could never be bothered carrying it up out down the stairs at our flat's entrance.

We do know it is sturdy and can handle rough, icy terrain (urban & rural Estonia in winter) while carrying a LOT of weight. While traveling by train, we had our baby strapped to me in a Wilkenet while the Roan Marita carried all of our luggage - I mean the carrycot packed tight up to the hood plus the bottom storage full.

I now know thanks to great advice from this site that we could have used the seat unit from birth if fully reclined. Our kid has been out this way twice and loved it! Not sure if because she can see the world a bit more, forward-facing or how much it's down to her age.

  • Large carrycot
  • Sturdy frame
  • Rocks the baby to sleep (suspension 👍)
  • Impractical seat unit
  • Not for small car trunks

An excellent winter pram. Large, roomy carrycot, sturdy frame, and it rocks the baby beautifully. I had the eva foam wheels and I wouldn't change them for anything. But I didn't like the seat unit, which was quite horrible, impractical and ugly.

  • roomy bassinet
  • rocking-base bassinet
  • beautiful suspension for uneven terrain
  • fixed wheels that don't swivel

The best pram for me. We tried multiple, even those with swivel front wheels, but I am not sorry to get this one eventually. We used the bassinet for a very long time. The seat unit much less, as we rather bought a lighter pushchair after that. The bassinet can even be rocked on the floor as a crib since it has a rounded bottom. 😍

Your questions about the Roan Marita Prestige

1)

Hello!

At what age can the baby start using the seat unit, as opposed to the carrycot? Does it depend on which reclining position the seat unit is set?

Our kid is 5 months old, sitting with support but not yet sitting unsupported.

Thank you!

Hi, Hannah,

The right age and way to put your baby in the seat is well described in this article I wrote, literally because I had many mums asking me the same thing. Be sure to read it to know more.

In short, however, you should never put your baby in the sitting position if the baby didn't sit up by itself, and until that time, you can actually use the seat in the reclined position even right from birth if you need. So, your child can most certainly start using the seat if you use it in the fully reclined setup.

Does the Marita come with a mattress?

Hi, Tony,

Do you mean the carrycot of the Roan Marita? That, yes, comes with a mattress - all bassinets normally do come with a mattress included.

If you mean the seat and some kind of cushioning seat liner, that depends, but normally, no, there's no soft insert on the seat. Any universally fitting one should do, however - it just needs to be purchased separately.

I have the Roan Marita Prestige that someone gave me the fabric on the carrycot is looking worn out is there a way I can just get the new fabric without having to buy a new carrycot or stroller ?

Hello, there!

Well, no, not really, you can't just buy it, their spare parts are very hard to get by overall, and very rarely available - if so, usually through the seller/distributor, or directly from the manufacturer after contacting customer service.

From another point of view, to find a good seamstress, and have her made a copy based on the internal fabric that is able to be removed, this I already saw moms do in such a case. The same goes for seat upholstery and the canopy (on the canopy, usually removing means destroying the original fabric since it needs to be cut out).

If, on the other hand, the outside carrycot fabric is damaged, that is pretty much "glued" to the base and so cannot be changed - that would mean getting a new carrycot (or pram).
