Peg-Pérego Book S XL
The Peg-Pérego Book S XL is a modular stroller system consisting of the Pop Up seat and the XL carrycot combined with the Book S chassis. The name XL is derived from the name of the carrycot and it is also corresponding with the style of the fabrics on both the carrycot and the seat. The Navetta XL is a popular carrycot that can also be used in the car instead of a Group 0+ car seat. The Book Plus is also available as a part of the stroller system Elite with the elegant carrycot/car seat hybrid Navetta Elite and the Pop Up with the foldable Navetta Pop Up carrycot.
The lightweight aluminum chassis is equipped with a suspension system as well as a shaped handlebar. Thanks to the wheels with suspension and 12 ball bearings, the steering is by 30% easier compared to similar strollers. The stroller can be folded one-handedly the way a book does, hence the name. Compared to the inferior Book Plus line, this stroller comes with a leatherette handlebar. The rear Soft Ride wheels feature a tire tread and are also suitable for occasional all-terrain use. The front wheels can be locked by rotating the mechanism located on the side of the chassis, so you don’t need to bend to do so. The bigger, all-terrain front wheels with a tire tread are also available to purchase (separately). Another advantage of this stroller is the large shopping basket with easy load system, meaning that the rear part can be folded down.
The Peg-Pérego Book Plus XL comes with luxurious textured fabrics featuring bold stitching. The Pop Up seat can be reclined flat, including the leg rest. The shorter hood comes with a strap for attaching the favorite toy and can be extended by adding another part, which also can be used as a sun visor. The Peg-Pérego Book Plus XL set is only available as the 3in1 stroller system; however, the individual components of the stroller system are also sold separately.

Parent reviews of the Peg-Pérego Book S XL
With this stroller, it really depends on what you're going to use it for. I wanted a lightweight stroller for city sidewalks, that folds easily with the sports part, the sports part swivels, the backrest and footrest are adjustable, and it fits in the trunk when folded. And these requirements were met by this stroller. It traveled with us in the car to visits, shopping, doctors 🙂
I was warned about the hard suspension when I bought it, and there were times when I wish it had better suspension. I was pleased to see that the price included a leg cover, a rain cover and a changing bag. Later on, I appreciated that pretty much all the fabric parts were machine washable.
Bassinet:
Very good design in my opinion - sturdy frame; good quality, strong fabric that doesn't let the wind blow in or doesn't get immediately soaked, so baby is protected from bad weather. We also used it as a car seat, and I recommend it to everyone. No moving and waking up the baby - it was comfy, we managed even longer waits at the doctor's or shopping without any problems. As such a small minus is maybe the size of the bassinet. Even though it's labeled as a Navetta XL, it's not that long. We didn't mind though, because my kids were tired of lying in the bassinet, so we switched to the seat unit at about 5 months.
Seat:
It has both backrest and footrest adjustment. It reverses to face both sides; plus a large enough canopy. The biggest plus for us was that it folds up with the frame.
Frame:
It really featured a hard kind of suspension, so it's definitely not suitable for rough terrain. We managed trails and grass, but on broken trails and gravel, I found it lacked better cushioning. On the plus side, it's lightweight, has a roomy basket, folds easily, and is a pretty good size when folded. What really disappointed and annoyed me, however, was that almost right from the start the chassis seemed to loosen up (I think it's called having a will in the joints???) - that is, I had the feeling that the stroller had been ridden for a long time, and not that it was new.
- Sturdy design
- Easy to steer
- Folding
- Wheels - the older ones wore out quickly, you could buy replacements only in the other country
I was happy with it. The bassinet is spacious, deep, ideal for the baby in winter. The seat unit is well designed, positioning in three levels - great.
