Peg-Pérego Book Plus XL
The Peg-Pérego Book Plus XL is a modular stroller system consisting of the Pop Up seat and the Navetta XL carrycot in combination with the Book Plus chassis. The name XL comes from the name of the carrycot and it is corresponding with the style of the fabrics on both the carrycot and the seat. The Navetta XL is a popular carrycot that can also be used in the car instead of a Group 0+ car seat. The Book Plus is also available as a part of the stroller system Elite with the elegant carrycot/car seat hybrid Navetta Elite and the Pop Up with the foldable Navetta Pop Up carrycot.
The lightweight aluminum chassis is equipped with a suspension system as well as a shaped handlebar. Thanks to the wheels with suspension and 12 ball bearings, the steering is by 30% easier compared to similar strollers. The stroller can be folded one-handedly the way a book does, hence the name. Another advantage of this stroller is the large shopping basket with easy load system, meaning that the rear part can be folded down.
The Peg-Pérego Book Plus XL features luxurious, textured fabrics with bold stitching. The Pop Up seat can be reclined flat, including the leg rest. The hood features a strap for attaching a favorite toy. It is quite short in its basic form, but it can be extended by opening another panel, and can also be used as a follow-the-sun shield. The Peg-Pérego Book Plus XL set is only available as the 3in1 stroller system; however, the individual components of the stroller system are also sold separately.

Parent reviews of the Peg-Pérego Book Plus XL
- Lightweight, foldable with one hand
- Super large carrycot
- Superb car seat
- Large storage basket
- Cool one-handed operation
- Perfectly shaped handle
- Spacious seat
- Both forward and rear-facing seat
- Not a bit of suspension is felt
- Squeaked - stopped completely after oiling
- In the seat, the child slides down
I have the whole 3 in 1 system. Too bad I won't give it 10 points just because of the seat part.
The carrycor is absolutely TOP! The best I've seen - size, sturdiness, canopy, detachable from the chassis, materials, ability to use as a cradle when removed from the chassis - just totally awesome, and spacious too.
The car seat is also TOP - it has sides around the head, which not many car seats have (I've seen quite a few). The baby's head is really well protected. It's roomy, has a newborn insert, and can be used as a highchair on the go if needed while baby is not sitting :-)
Minus 2 points were taken because of the Pop Up seat. The canopy is fine, and the seating space (height/width), too, but it has one flaw - the leg positioning is unstable and my baby kept sliding off it. As long as he was lying down it was ok, but if he was sitting up (even in the footmuff) I still had to straighten him up all the time.
The chassis is super foldable; completely unsprung, though, so you can hear some rattling. Mine didn't squeak because we took care of it and oiled it regularly with WD40.
- Light
- Easy steering
- Spacious bassinet
- Facing rearward and lie-flat positioning
- No suspension can be felt
- Squeaks
- Loose
- Car seat is too big
Disappointing for me, I felt you pay more for the brand than for the quality.
It is easy to handle. The bassinet is spacious, the canopy is rather classic. The positioning of it is peculiar - when lifting the head, it also lifts below the knees, which did not suit my child.
We used the car seat twice, because it is too big and the baby is drowning in it. The seat part is classic, it goes into a full recline and faces also the parent.
