Peg-Pérego Book 51

The Peg-Pérego Book 51 (also known as the Book Plus 51) is a variation of the model Book Plus. To offer easier maneuverability through narrow spaces, the compact chassis is only 51 cm wide. It is lighter too. There is a rotating mechanism located on the side of the chassis to lock the front wheels, so you don’t need to bend to do so.

The Book 51 is also available as a part of the popular stroller system Elite, the Pop Up or the XL. If you choose the Sportivo version, all the accessories have to be purchased separately. However, the Completo version comes with an apron and a rain cover included. There is also an option to purchase only the chassis and then add either the optional Pop Up seat, the Navetta carrycot or the Primo Viaggio car seat. The Pop Up seat can be reclined flat, including the leg rest. The hood features a strap for attaching a favorite toy. It is quite short in its basic form, but it can be extended by opening another panel, and can also be used as a follow-the-sun shield.

The lightweight aluminum chassis is equipped with a suspension system as well as a shaped handlebar. Thanks to the wheels with suspension and 12 ball bearings, the steering is by 30% easier compared to similar strollers. The stroller can be folded one-handedly the way a book does, hence the name. Another advantage of this stroller is the large shopping basket with easy load system, meaning that the rear part can be folded down.

Your questions about the Peg-Pérego Book 51

1)

Hi, I bought a used stroller and I plan to wash it, but I don't know if the fabric can be removed from the body?

Hi, Noor,

Peg-Pérego says nothing about washing machine cleaning of the fabrics, so watch out as the fabric may fade or get damaged if being removed and washed in the machine. I personally cannot find anything in the manual, and I am a person to rather do hand cleaning as I have quite a few bad experiences with the washing in the machine, and the brand itself doesn't recommend it. The fabric removal should be possible to be done, however there is no manual, as PP says: "brush fabric parts to remove dust and wash by hand at a maximum temperature of 30°C; do not wring; do not use chlorine bleach, do not iron; do not dry clean; do not apply solvent-based stain removers and do not dry in a tumble dryer."

I can, however, help with this article about cleaning and maintenance I wrote, and you'll find how to approach the cleaning of the stroller from my experience.
