Nuna Triv Next
.eli
The Nuna Triv Next is a summer 2021 iteration of the original Nuna Triv. The upgrades of the Next model, and the differences between the Triv and the Triv Next, include a change on the rear wheels attachment design that should improve the stability that was a bit questionable with the first Triv, the enlarged rear wheels and narrower front wheels, the availability of different car seat adaptors to accommodate more car seat brands, and the MagneTech secure snap™, which is a name for the easier, magnetic buckle that automatically locks into place, designed to make the securing of the harness easier with the Triv Next.
This reasonably lightweight, compact, mid-size model meets most of the criteria for a from-birth stroller. The Triv Next frame is equipped with smaller, but chunky wheels that are able to tackle even a bit of uneven terrain. The seat unit's backrest can be adjusted in three positions; the laying position is quite deep, though not completely flat. The fully reclined angle should be deep enough even for babies not sitting by themselves.
The seat is also equipped with padding and an insert for breathability and moisture absorbance. After removing the insert, a mesh backrest ready for hot summer days will be exposed, allowing airflow to pass through. A rain cover is also included with the Triv. Thanks to the seat being foldable in half, the stroller can be folded one-handedly, even with it being attached (in any direction of travel). You can carry the folded package on your arm, thanks to the integrated carry strap. In place of the seat, you can also click on a car seat - the included Ring adapter allows only for the Nuna Pipa car seats to be used with it. An optional Triv folding carry cot is also possible to use from birth. Many sold-separately accessories are also available to complement your Triv Next with.

Your questions about the Nuna Triv Next
I am planning on buying the CYBEX Platinum Cloud T i-Size. How can I attach this to the Nuna Triv?
Hey Pet,
In theory, it could be done if you'd be able to get your hands on the Triv Next Maxi-Cosi/Cybex car seat adapters. Try googling for those around you, or asking in a shop (or the customer service) - however, Nuna lately stopped making and distributing those as they want to, I guess, support their own brand car seats. So, if you find a Maxi-Cosi/Cybdx adaptors for Nuna Triv Next, you can attach the car seat, but if you don't (which is very possible), you won't be able to fit that car seat on the Triv Next frame.
Hi Eli,
Is the Nuna Triv Next compatible with Maxi-Cosi Rock, Pebble Plus or Pebble Pro? We saw a good deal on Maxi-Cosi Rock, and I don't mind getting adapters.
Thanks for your advice.
Hey, Betty,
If you would be able to get the Maxi-Cosi adaptors which are however not available much (Nuna tries to push their car seats), yes, all three of these would be compatible. You do, however, need to find those Triv Next adapters (U-shaped at one end) to be able to attach Maxi-Cosi car seats to this stroller.
What kind of adapter would allow me to use Triv carrycot from UK work with Triv Next stroller in the US? And where do I find the adapter?
Hey, Ash,
This is a question for the Nuna customer service more than me. They made it purposely so that there is a new frame, new carrycot, and only Nuna car seat compatibility, and since I personally don't have both these models at hand, I cannot tell you whether they are really compatible. The Nuna adapters' availability is an even more complicated matter. I recommend writing to Nuna directly.
Hi there!
I was wondering if you know what the adapters look like for the Triv / Cybex Cloud Z2? We bought the Cybex Mios but have had issues with the chassis and got a refund. We don't want another Cybex and would like to get the Nuna Triv.
However, we have the Cybex car seat! Please help. I know I will need to get some second hand but I am not sure what they look like. Also, do you know if other Nuna models have the same adapter as the Triv?
Many thanks!
Hey, Sophie,
The adapters for the Triv are not the same as for other Nuna models. They looked like this:
However, they are not really available, and they were meant for the first Triv generation. Honestly, I have not tested if they will work for the Trv Next.
If you don't want to change the car seat, perhaps check other stroller options, too. You don't have to go for a Cybex pram - Joie strollers (and many others) will work with Cybex car seats, too. Most larger brands offer Maxi-Cosi/Cybex adaptors now (just Nuna stopped with that).
Hi!
I’m asking about the compatibility of the Cybex Cloud Z car seat with the Nuna Triv Next stroller. I found on the market a pre-owned Nuna Ring adapter for car seats (with the strap for folding). Could be compatible? I already own a Cybex Cloud Z.
Thank you!
Hey, Raphael,
Unfortunately, no, the ring adapter only works with Nuna 0+ car seats, so it will nit work for your Cybex Cloud Z, no. There were adapters for Maxi-Cosi/Cybex car seats at one point (different to the ring adapter, they are in pairs and have this U-shaped attachment system), however Nuna stopped making those, and so if you don't find them preowned somewhere, you won't be able to attach your Cloud Z car seat to the Tri frame.
Hi Eli,
How can I find the "bayonet style" adaptors for the Triv Next? I'm trying to use the Triv Carrycot on the Triv Next.
Hey, Gregg,
Nuna stopped offering those, unfortunately. So unless you find some pre-owned ones in classifieds, you will have to go with only the ring adapter for the car seat and the newer carrycot.
Hi Eli!
I was wondering if there’s a way to fit a Cybex Cloud Z2 carseat on the Triv Next. We’re considering buying either the Cybex Eezy S Twist +2 or the Nuna Triv Next, but we really like the Cybex reclinable car seat. Thanks!
Hiya, Malvi,
It is maybe good to know that there are multiple reclinable car seats, and a downside to the Cloud line is that it cannot be positioned while in the car (which is a shameň while car seats like Joie i-Level or Kiddy Evoluna line can - just an FYI.
About the compatibility, unfortunately they stopped making other than the ring adapters for the newer lines, so you cannot actually get a Maxi-Cosi style adaptor any more, which is again a shame. So theoretically, if the adapters were still available to bu, you could put a Cloud car seat on, but I cannot find those sold anymore, so you won't be able to.
Hey,
Is the Triv carrycot compatible with the Triv Next model? Tnx:)
Hi, Matea,
The Triv carrycot actually click on the so-called "bayonet adapters" which are actually Maxi-Cosi style adapters. If you do have the car seat adapters for Maxi-Cosi/Cybex for the Triv Next, you will be able to attach the carrycot, too. They should be compatible.
How is it compared to the previous version? Is it much better? Since I read you are disappointed with the prev version.
Or maybe the Joolz Hub still better?
Thanks for the answer!
Heya, Misbach,
The stroller is definitely better, stability-wise, as the frame got changed, and the narrower rear side is not longer narrower in the new generation. I, however, still find the stroller a little overpriced for what it is, I mean, the upgrade was actually a correction of the stability problem ad enlargement of the wheels & adding a magnetic buckle which is nice, however not making the stroller much better, though more like making it larger in size and more all terrain. For those who search for a really compact, nimble reversible model, I don't know, I feel like there are better models - the Hub you mention is one of them, and also the Cybex Mios which has smaller wheels but a better frame and also is much more compact and easy to steer. Not a bad stroller, just doesn't stand out as a good value for money for me personally.
I, btw, responded to a similar question about this pram HERE, feel free to read that as well.
