The Kinderkraft Prime 2020 is a renewed version and a new generation of the affordable Kinderkraft Prime stroller system, released for 2020. In this version, it features not only a sleeker look but also a higher - 22kg weight capacity in the seat unit. To add to it, it boasts the already classic features like the adjustable, leatherette-covered handlebar as well as a spacious, relatively easily accessible shopping basket.

The seat unit is fully reversible and offers several positions of backrest and leg rest to recline it into, including a lie-flat. Therefore, it will suit even a child that doesn't sit by itself just yet. For your newborn, you'll appreciate the carrycot with a backrest adjustment option, or the optional Mink car seat (or any other well-known brand with Maxi-Cosi type of attachments) attachable with the help of adapters (included). The 2in1 or 3in1 Prime 2020 set also includes a rain cover, mosquito net, changing bag, and a wheel pump.

Awful

1
  • I got lots of accessories with the pram - including a bag, changing mat, rain cover, mosquito net and mattress
  • The stroller lasted about 6 months until it became very difficult to manoeuvre. I had to use a lot of force to keep it steering straight. Any weight in the seat causes it to sink to one side. The frame is so cheap and fragile, and the wheels need a lot of maintenance to keep them going as they go flat often
  • Do not buy this pram

Awful stroller,

Its not expensive at all

3
  • Price, value - great for a 3in1 set, it's not expensive at all
  • Great accessories included
  • Hard ride
  • Not much suspension

We have a 3in1 set, and the accessories included are a very nice touch. From the downsides, the predominant thing is the hard ride, bad suspension - you can immediately feel the bumps on the road.

Your questions about the Kinderkraft Prime 2020

1)

In the specifications, what does it mean to have a rocking chassis? Another question is how good is the suspension compared to the Uppababy Cruz?

Thanks

Hi, Noah,

We tried to pick those prams that do have a 'rocking' style of suspension in the way it's not only shock-absorbing that you barely feel but an actual rocking chassis allowing you to softly rock your baby. Those prams with even an adjustable style of suspension springs usually (of course, not always, but mostly) feature such a soft suspension that allows this rocking, and the Prime is pretty much on the rocking side when having the suspension adjusted to soft.

Suspension-wise, then, the Prime is a bit better off, compared to the Uppababy Cruz. On the other hand, it is a MUCH cheaper stroller so maybe the suspension is softer but the wheel bearings, the joints, the plastics, the fabrics, even te seat design and space inside are actually much better in the Cruz from my point of view. Yes, the suspension is a vital part of a stroller's anatomy, but not the most important one - the overall quality is actually much much more important from the longevity and sturdiness as well as overall comfort view.

Read more about suspension in our article if that interests you 😉.

Also, there's a new article comparing Kinderkraft strollers with other, similar affordable brands if that would be of use to you 😊
