Parent reviews of the Joie Litetrax 4
Good quality, nice buggy from a proven brand.
- light
- easy to fold
- doesn't take up much space in the boot of the car
- easy to drive around town
- nice look
- two drink holders
- small foam wheels will only travel on pavements and paved roads
- the wind blows through the canopy
- the apron only covers the bottom of the legs and falls down a lot
I regret not having it for my first child. It's lightweight, folds easily into the car, unfolds easily, doesn't take up much space. The rain cover covers well and has vents that you can't even see. Not for off-road though, the wheels are foam and pretty small. Also, there is a lot of wind that gets inside. It's more of a ride around town kind of thing. The apron seems to me to be useless.
A great pushchair. Goes over any terrain, is easy to use with one hand and my little one loves it.
- quality
- support
- padding
- compactness
- low weight
- parent tray for coffee
We are very happy with it. We use it for a 1yo disabled child, and he's very comfy inside (he cannot sit unassisted and needs support). The buggy folds reasonably small and it is lightweight. The parent tray is 🔝
Very dissapointed. It wasn't the cheapest pushchair... The front wheels are brutally noisy on cobblestones, and even started squeaking after winter. The folding system is nice and easy, but it got loose over time and you can feel the frame wobble. I feel like I'll break it when lifting the front wheels to get up a curb. Not recommending it.
- canopy size
- awesome folding system
- parent tray 😍
- padded seat
- nice handle height - good for a 162cm mom and a 185cm dad
- no pocket in the canopy
- not a complete lie-flat
- foam handle
- short seatback - not a roomy seat (about 84 cm in length)
- a bit heavy for the type
- I mind that you cannot cover the mesh canopy extension other than by shortening it back again
It's a very nice pram, overall. For the price, I recommend it. What I don't like would be the short seatback and the foam-covered handle.
- lightweight
- compact-folding
- nimble
- not enough airflow
- huge raincoat
Lightweight and compact. My only niggle would be the too large raincoat (I don't take it with me bcs it takes up too much space in the basket) and the lack of ventilation on the backrest. My son is sweaty after a nap inside.
- Light
- Easy to steer
- Easy to fold and unfold
- Compact
- Lies completely flat
- Extendable hood with ventilation mesh
- Cup holder and a practical pouch for keys, wipes, or lip balm...
- Hard-to-access basket when the seat back is reclined
Very happy with this buggy. We looked for something lightweight and compact and it looks like we found what we needed. Around town, the brand works just perfect, not so great for terrain, though.
- Low weight
- Easy to fold
- Superb manipulation
I recommend it - for that price, it's great.
- Super fast fold
- Super large canopy
- Shopping basket also nice
- Lightweight
- Great manipulation-wise
- ...a good urban stroller 👌👌
- I don't really take it as a downside, but I have to get used to the plastic wheels since I only had inflatable wheels so far (and those were less noisy) 🤣🤣
A superb urban stroller 👌 Folds with one hand, lightweight, and the hood will be great for summer 🤩🤩🤩
Your questions about the Joie Litetrax 4
Hello,
What is the distance between the two back wheels of the Joie Litetrax 4 in cm please?
Hi, Emma,
The Litetrax 4 is 60 (more exactly, 59.4 cm) cm wide in the rear part.
Does the joie litetrax stroller has a parent facing option...? Can its handle be moved?
Heya, Anks,
I am sorry to say it cannot. The seat only faces forward, and the handlebar is fixed, it doesn't adjust nor reverse.
Is it suitable to take on a plane?
Heya, Tasha,
If you mean as a carry-on/cabin luggage, then no, it is too large for that. However, almost all airlines allow the so-called baby’s luggage - a (usually free) stroller that they will take from you when boarding and return to you when getting off. Be sure to check your options with your airline. For an ultracompact buggy, though, you’ll need to get something simpler and smaller.
Is it suitable for a newborn?
Hi, Melisa,
Well, it is, and it isn't. Let me explain - with a carrycot and(or a car seat that are attached with adapters, the Litetrax line is fully newborn friendly. Apart from that, the seat reclines pretty much fully, meaning a yes, it is kind of suitable for a newborn, however, it is way too big to be used with a newborn baby. If you want the seat to be used from birth, you need at least a good footmuff or a newborn insert of sorts, or better yet, a universal cocoon/soft cot that inserts in the seat, for your baby to not slide around in there.
Hi Eli,
We are tempted to buy the Joie Litetrax 4 for our 2 years old, but had a few questions:
1. One of the customer reviews said the max height of child is 84 cm and my daughter is already that tall, will she have no room to grow?
2. It closes inside out, does that mean it will get dirty quickly after a off road trip and while putting it in the boot?
3. What are the pros and cons over Mytrax?
4. What's your opinion of the Litetrax 4?
Thanks,
Fatema
Hi there!
The Litetrax is a bit less roomy, perhaps, than other competing strollers on the market, partially so because of very nice padding making the seat slightly smaller. I wouldn't as it will last only till a child's 84 cm, but not for a 1-meter child either. For a normally-sized kid, it would last until approximately 2.5 to 3 years of age, from my experience. Each mother needs and wants something different, also in terms of the size, so it depends on your preferences and expectations, too.
About the closing, I don't think it is a con. I had strollers opening inwards and outwards, and those opening inwards often made dirty the canopy (by the wheels), while he outward-folding, you just shouldn't put on a dirty floor (but that you shouldn't even with those inwards folding, just saying :-D I see it as an advantage from the practicality of the folding mechanism, to be honest, the outward fold.
The pros of the Litetrax over Mytrax are definitely the weight, which is lower. The cons would be the less terrain-capable wheels that can rattle over bad bumps, the simpler hood, and no adjustable handlebar, which the Mytrax line features. Also, when using a carrycot/car seat, the Mytrax seat can be undressed completely, while the Litetrax's seat stays on.
Lastly, I think it is a nice urban model, comfy for the kid in terms of padding and shading, but yeah, it is not one of the largest, size-wise, and not the slightest eighter. I was considering getting it for my son at one point, but went of the Oyster Zero instead, as it was roomier and lighter (and I was very happy I did). But it definitely is a nice stroller, and if the price is right, it can work very nice for you.
Do you know if Litetrax 4 Dlx (22kg) has a longer seat of this one?
Hi, Nicola,
No, unfortunately, the Joie Litetrax 4 DLX doesn't have a longer sitting/laying surface - it's the same. It only went through a test that confirmed it can hold up to 22 kg safely.
The features of the Litetrax 4 DLX are, otherwise, the same - **what changed (apart from the maximum weight limit) is the telescoping handle added to the DLX and new color additions (as well as a detail of the leatherette handle and the plastic wheels that are in black color).
