Inglesina Maior

The nimble urban helper with a large hood

The Inglesina Maior is a 2021 release - and a compact-folding, small urban stroller with unusually large rubber wheels for a comfortable ride. Apart from being small in size and therefore foldable and agile, the Maior offers low weight and one-hand maneuverability as well as a one-handed fold. Its padded, forward-facing seat can be fully reclined in the backrest area and sports an adjustable leg rest as well. More of Maior's benefits include an extendable canopy with a large sun visor and all-wheel suspension. You'll appreciate the Maior when needing a second - lightweight & compact stroller for urban walks with your toddler or when traveling.

I somehow cannot get used to it

3
  • pretty
  • light & compact
  • thin canopy
  • suspension
  • materials

A pretty, handy, lightweight compact pushchair. But I somehow cannot get used to it after our Bugaboo Gox2, and neither can my little girl. She doesn’t want to sit in it. I don’t like the materials and suspension much. And the canopy is thin, see-through.

  • luxurious look and finishes
  • lie-flat seat
  • lightweight and comfy
  • reasonably large wheels can tackle occasional grass
  • handle doesn't adjust
  • fabric behind is a little thin
  • I would like more coverage (cosy toes, canopy in reclined position)

A capable buggy. I like it, even if there are a few niggles. The handle is rather high up and I miss handle adjustment to make it fit better. The seat length is kind of short, but that is the price to pay for a compact buggy - and the Maior is compact for sure. I also do mind that when folded, a part protrudes and looks weird. But the value you get for the price is very nice, mainly if you look at the size of it and then at the size of the wheels, which is very nice.

  • comfy padding
  • large wheels with actual suspension
  • nice and roomy seat (seatback area)
  • unique look
  • apron included
  • short legrest
  • short apron

A small pushchair that, in my eyes, beat most of the larger mid-size models. We chose it for the smaller compact size as well as for the style that is not boring. It's different than what you normally see on the street (so many Valco Snaps...). So elegant. The apron is included (even if a little short imho), and a rain cover is, too. I would only make the leg rest longer. Overall, recommended.

Your questions about the Inglesina Maior

1)

Hi Eli,

You recommended this stroller, and it looks great! However, I have an Oyster 3 for everyday use, which I love, but it is really heavy, not too easy to fold, and difficult to lift as I cannot find the right point to do it safely. Currently, I have an ABC Design Ping as a 2nd stroller for travel and I really like it, but my toddler is 13kg now, and I find it difficult to maneuver, and the seat unit is quite small. Hence, I'm looking for a lightweight but still relatively compact stroller.

Can you please help me choose between Inglesina Maior and CAM Off-road? It seems to me that the CAM fabric is more durable, and the wheels are a bit smaller, but Inglesina is in a more premium category (and that doesn't necessarily mean it's better).

Many thanks for your help!
Keep up the great work x

Hey, Krisz,

I can se why you like the Cam Off-Road, a nice compact stroller with a bit larger wheels. And it looks good, too! I however have to say the seat will be close to the Ping you already have, as design-wise the Cam Off-Road comes from those travel-meant ultra-compacts. So, if the Ping is not what you're searching for, space-wise, the Maior is a better choice out of the two.

I would also suggest the Oyster Zero (Gravity) which is even roomier, more spacious - and has a much cooler canopy.

Hello, thanks for this website, its a treasure.

Just bought Inglesina Maior for our 6+ months old baby, looks great so far. Question: can't find how to lock front wheels, as I understand I should be able to do it, any suggestions?

Thanks so much
Magdalini

Hey, Magdalini,

It seems the Maior doesn't have that function after all. I am sorry, you won't be able to lock the front wheels.

3)

Would you choose it as your main stroller for a 6+ baby, as soon as you can turn him/her to face the road? (I like its lightweight and the big rubber wheels, for light off-road)

Hi, Nicola,

If you're not planning to use it on harsh terrain and not go off-road regularly, the Inglesina Maior pushchair might work for you, yes. There are, of course, downsides to it, as there always are - in this case, I mind the thinner canopy fabric and the shallow-ish basket a bit, and the leg cover could be higher - but it's a good mid- to small-sized pushchair with a forward-facing seat and I think for normal, basic use, it might suit you well.

A similar and nice model could be a Mutsy Nexo, Oyster Zero, a
, or a Baby Jogger City Mini2.

Always take the needs of your baby into consideration, of course, some don't want to face the world immediately as they can. But you'll find out soon enough 😉
