Cybex Libelle

DISCONTINUED in 2022
The GB Pockit-inspired simple umbrella-style ultra-compact

see 3 parent reviews

The Cybex Libelle is an almost-identical "brother" of the popular travel buggy, the GB Pockit+ All-City. The umbrella-style Libelle stroller from Cybex brand was launched at the end of 2020, combining the benefits of low weight (5,9 kg), minimalistic carry-on luggage-dimensions, and spaciousness with 22kg weight capacity suitable even for an older toddler.

The single front wheels with suspension will be of advantage if thinking about the manipulation with such a bigger child. The backrest of the pushchair can be reclined, but only partially, suitable only for children sitting by themselves yet. The leg rest is also adjustable (two positions). For your newborn, the Libelle offers compatibility with a car seat as well as compatibility with the GB brand Cot To Go foldable carrycot (both with the same, Maxi-Cosi/Cybex style adapters).

Fits my 3 years old OK

4
  • agile
  • very lightweight
  • compact-folding
  • no leg rest
  • basket is shallow

Decided for this after considering the GB Pockit Plus All-City (they seem the same to me, just a few minor differences). I heard Cybex is better. It is a nice second buggy, we keep it in the car. Around shops, it's useful. Fits my 3 years old OK.

Overall a nice stroler for traveling

3
  • good looking
  • small folded size
  • light
  • plane-travels friendly
  • you cannot hang any bags on the handlebars or you'll tip your stroller backward
  • brake feels weak
  • you will struggle with the harness a bit

It doesn't recline fully - this you should consider with smaller babies. The wheels are quite small, but they maneuver well, we managed a dirtroad just fine. I wouldn't do that everyday, though, it doesn't seem sturdy enough to withstand the strain if on a daily basis. The harness is fiddly and can get in the way. Overall a nice stroler for traveling (it will fit the overhead compartment) and occasional use.

  • lightweight and compact
  • roomy seat
  • not too sturdy
  • small wheels
  • foam handles

I bought it as a travel buggy. It works just fine for that. Don't expect a sturdy everyday all-terrain pushchair and you'll be fine.

Your questions about the Cybex Libelle

1)

Can I use maxi cosi car seat adapters and car seat cabriofix i size on the Cybex Libelle?

Hey, Ruth,

Yes, with the Cybex adapters, you can attach a Maxi-Cosi car seat on this stroller, that also means the Cabriofix i-size.

2)

What is the height of the back rest (seat height) as well the height of the seat to the canopy aka how much total head room height?

Heya,

I don't have the head room height measured, and the manufacturer also doesn't state this - one of the reason being it changes incredibly depending on how (at which angle) and who measures it. Mostly this information is not given with strollers, as I've noticed.

Funnily, the manufacturer doesn't state the height of the seat back, either, but I can make an educated guess and tell you it will be about 45 cm. I personally would say that an average child will fit into the stroller up to his/her 3 years approximately (a taller, larger toddler a shorter time).

3)

Is it possible to fit on Cybex Libelle another Cybex stroller's seat? If yes, which model is compatible?

Hi, Maria,

I am sorry but no, no other stroller seat is compatible as far as I know. Only an original part is needed to really fit and hold on the frame, so if in need of spare parts, I would write to a Cybex distributor or customer service.

4)

What Cybex car seat adapter do I need to use the Aton 2 for this stroller?

Hi, Lucy,

There is only one adapter type for this, so you should actually search for 'Cybex Libelle car seat adapters', not Cybx adaptors as each stroller has a different one. I am including a picture of Cybex Libelle car seat adaptors:

You can also find Cybex Libelle car seat adapters right on Cybex official page HERE.

5)

Is this stroller compatible with any carrycots or bassinets?

Heya, Lucy,

The Libelle from Cybex is, unfortunately, not compatible with any newborn carrycot. The chassis is not made for such a weight distribution. It can only be used as a pushchair (a stroller with the forward-facing seat) OR, for a baby, as a travel system with a car seat (adapters are needed).

6)

Are there any car seat brands compatible with the Cybex Libelle that anyone found?

Hi, Sarah,

The Cybex Libelle offers the optional Cybex adapters, which means ALL newer Cybex, Maxi-Cosi, Joie, Clek, Recaro, Nuna (Nuna Pipa, Nuna Pipa RX, Nuna Pipa Lite, Nuna Pipa Lite R, Nuna Pipa Lite LX), Kiddy, BeSafe, Avionaut car seats will fit. Also, the Swandoo Quick, the Axkid Modukid, and others with the same (Maxi-Cosi-style) attachment system will fit on the Libelle.

I would not go for the huge ones like the Cybex Cloud Z, however, it's a too lightweight pushchair frame for that.

You write it's nearly identical to the GB Pockit+ All City. Could you explain how they are actually different? All I find to be different is the max weight that is specified by Cybex (22kg) and GB (17kg).

But are they actually different?

Hello,

You are right, there are not many differences between the GB Pockit+ All-City and the Cybex Libelle. Apart from the different maximum weight capacity (which is, anyway, very much related to the child's size anyway - you most probably won't fit a 22kg child into a Libelle anyhow), there are design changes. The canopy shape is a bit different - the Cybex's is a bit more in their Eezy line's style (kind of wider), and also, the colorways available are different. I do find GB's fabrics a bit nicer as well. Next, the wheel design and the frame colour are different.

In any case, it, all in all, IS the same design, and the buggies ARE made in the same factory, by the same manufacturer (GB owns Cybex). The functionality will be pretty much the same, so if you're choosing between these two, just go with the one you like more, or the one that is for a better price.
