Chicco Best Friend Pro

see 3 parent reviews

The Chicco Best Friend Pro is an evolution of the original Chicco Best Friend 3in1 pram - a pushchair or a stroller system made with urban parents in mind. Apart from the attractive price that is great for those on a budget, the Best Friend stroller is available in minimalistic colorways, features an easily accessible storage basket, and a compact fold even with the seat unit attached in the parent or world-facing mode. You can opt for a pushchair-only setup of the Best Friend Pro or get in with the renewed semi-rigid carrycot as well as with a no-adapters-needed car seat creating a full-featured travel system. The hard-based Comfort carrycot usable in the car instead of a car seat is also available as a sold-separately option. The Best Friend Plus stroller system is also called Chicco Best Friend Light with the foldable Light carrycot or Best Friend Comfort with the hard-base auto-carrycot usable in the car.

The seat unit of the Pro variation was what mainly changed in the new version - it's more spacious, equipped with a fully lie-flat seat with an enlarged canopy as well as side vents when in the reclined position. Apart from it, the Best Friend Pro changes include a new wheel quality and design and a design - fabrics update. The stroller system comes with a rain cover, and leg cover included.

Quality feels good enough

4
  • Weight
  • Strudiness
  • Folding
  • Isofix base option
  • Value
  • Suspension lacks a bit

Compact, lightweight, practical. And still sturdy enough 3in1 combination. The quality feels good enough, and you can order the Isofix base for the car seat. Overall, happy for the value for money, it's worth buying.

So far so good

4
  • price
  • looks & style
  • adjustable handle
  • accessible basket
  • folds with the seat that also folds in half
  • not much suspension
  • wheels get to look worn out over time

The frame is nice and sturdy. I like how the handle matches the colour of the pram. So far so good - and for such a nice price 😊 I'd just love more suspension, to be honest.

Everyone notices us on the street

The pram looks lovely, everyone notices us on the street :) The steering and the wheels are also nice. We live on the outskirts and as such, we have a lot of dirtroads - apart from on those, it pushes beautifully. I also like the large storage space and the fabrics (they're not hard to clean). The car seat I can't fault either. We are still using the bassinet, so nothing about the seat to say just yet. I can recommend it.

Your questions about the Chicco Best Friend Pro

1)

Can be used on gravel?

Hi, Nicola!

Well, any stroller can be used on gravel, but the performance is ALWAYS very poor there. Also, you will probably need to pull it behind you more than push it forward - but that is true for almost any stroller.

Always remember that the worse the terrain is (and gravel is really a bad surface for anything with wheels), the larger wheels will mean a better ride. This is an URBAN pushchair so it won't perform great on terrain nor on sand or gravel, but you - occasionally - will be able to use it.

Here, read our guide about different types of wheels and think about maybe a suitability of a three-wheeled stroller instead, if gravel and harsh terrain will be your regular pushing grounds.
