British brand Silver Cross was established in 1877. The founder of Silver Cross, William Wilson, invented the world’s first stroller. William developed an innovative spring system - the now-famous bouncing Silver Cross suspension used currently in their classic - traditional prams and strollers - and combined this with a reversible hood. Thanks to their high-quality craftsmanship and design, since 1950s Silver Cross started to be known as the “Rolls-Royce of strollers’’. In the 1960s, more affordable strollers for modern parents were added to Silver Cross portfolio. In the 1980s, the brand introduced the lightweight stroller with a reversible seat, the Wayfarer. This was a predecessor of the current Wayfarer, so popular it went on to sell more than one million units. Nowadays, Silver Cross is still a synonym of quality and tradition. More than 10 million parents have chosen Silver Cross strollers, including the royal family. The traditional Balmoral, Kensington or Sleepover are up to this day still available, together with the stylish and practical Surf, the convertible Wave, the compact Avia and other Silver Cross strollers.
