Silver Cross Pursuit
The Silver Cross Pursuit is a brother model of the Silver Cross Horizon (Go), firstly named the Silver Cross Horizon City. Functionality-wise, it is the same as the Horizon - with the difference of the smaller rear wheels and more urban usability based on this fact. A rain cover, an apron (leg cover), and the soft insert nest are all included with the Pursuit stroller.
The Pursuit is a right-from-birth pushchair that, thanks to its lie-flat position of the seat combined with the newborn nest (cocoon-style insert) included, makes for an affordable while luxuriously-looking urban choice of a pram. Purchasing only the set of the chassis with a seat unit (plus included accessories), the Pursuit is more budget-friendly while being comfortable for a newborn even in the pushchair mode (the seat unit is not a bucket-type - L-shaped - seat); in other words - a one-seat solution for those mums not wanting to store a carrycot later on. Another added benefit of the Pursuit, as well as the Horizon strollers, is the folding with the seat unit attached in both directions - the "clamshell fold."
The Pursuit was available in the Horizon City version before, which, with the Horizon Go model, were optionally combinable with a full-featured carrycot attachment. The Silver Cross brand went to the pushchair-only system later on and doesn't offer a bassinet accessory to it anymore.

Parent reviews of the Silver Cross Pursuit
- robust
- sturdy
- very bulky
- going up curbs can be tricky
A good all-around pram, and travel system compatible. High-quality finishes and comfy for our son. Very sturdy, probably that is because the push can be a bit difficult when going up curbs. Recommended as a reliable primary pram.
- great
- on the heavy side
I srsly love the pushchair it’s been great for 2 years 4 months of our little one (at the end not so often - lockdown...). Still in great condition; we will use it soon for our 2nd, hopefully at least just as long. A downside would be that it’s a bit heavy.
- Cosy
- Comfy
- Elegant
- Folds easily
I love it. It looks so elegant. It's easy to fold and comfortable for the baby.
It feels unstable and wobbly. I expected more. I don't recommend it.
- durable
- luxurious looking
- everything you need is included: a changing bag, a changing mat, a drinks holder, a footmuff, a raincover with its little bag, car seat adapters, and a car seat
- bulky fold
- basket could be larger
- think basket fabric
- not the best to carry up stairs
- handlebar height only adjusts a few height ranges - not enough imho
- stones get stuck in the wheel foam
- frame scratches easily
- steering could be easier
I liked the weight (for a full size system, it's very nice) when deciding on it. I needed to carry it up a few stairs. Even if not insanely heavy, it is not the easiest to do, and I would probably decide for even a smaller pram next time.
It needs a big boot to be stored in it - it is rather bulky (into a Skoda Citigo, it won't fit). Other little niggles make me think I'd choose something else if I were choosing again.
Your questions about the Silver Cross Pursuit
Hello, would the Pursuit seat fit on a Wayfarer chassis please?
Thank you
Hi, Rebecca,
The attachment system seems to be similar but it is not completely the same. There's no official compatibility statement so it is best to confirm with Silver Cross' customer service who'll have the most exact info about that as well as in regards to the different years' models, however, I believe the parts won't fit.
If parent facing, can it be tilted so baby can sit up more? Or does it have to be turned round to world-facing? Baby is 5 months old at the moment.
Hi, Nanna,
This stroller can be put from sitting up to a reclined position in both directions, so yes, you can recline or incline it in the parent-facing mode as well.
I'm just looking to use this for out second baby, however have misplaced the pursuit rain cover.
Please can you advise where I can buy another? Or one which would be suitable?
Thank you
Hey, Danielle,
For the original rain cover availability, contacting the Silver Cross customer service would probably be easiest. They will either tell you where can you find it, distributors-wise, or offer one themselves.
Other than that, any universal rain cover, e.g. this one from Amazon, should fit. Or visit any baby store, they will show you universal rain covers to pick from - pretty much most standard ones should be just fine.
Hi, can you attach a Maxi Cosi Pebble 360 to this pram?
Hey, Em,
With the Universal adapter for the Pursuit (it is U-shaped at the ends), you CAN attach the Maxi Cosi Pebble 360 car seat to this frame, yes.
Hello,
I was wondering what age can my baby sit forward facing in the Silver Cross Pursuit? My baby is currently 5 months old.
Thank you in advance.
Heya,
You child can be in any direction since pretty much any age (I would probably recommend a newborn facing you - otherwise, it doesn't matter). The thing is to have your baby facing any direction he or she is happy about.
The only thing you should watch out for is the sitting - a 5mo child rarely sits by itself without help. You should not put the little one in a semi-sitting or sitting position if he or she did not sit completely without help, by itself, yet - otherwise you put a huge strain on the child's neck and spine, which can create back problems in older age.
Will an airline allow you to fly with this pushchair?
Hiya,
If you mean as with a piece of cabin luggage, then no, this stroller is way too large for that. Many airlines, however, allow for baby luggage (a stroller, a car seat, such things) that is even often free, making you able to take the stroller to the plane, then it is taken by a steward to be put in the back, and then returned when you get off the plane. Also, with other airlines, you can pay for this service. And lastly, you can always have it as checked luggage if nothing else is possible. You will need to check for option with the airline of your choice.
Hello,
I have the silver cross pursuit already and planning to use it again. I have the simplicity car seat but found it quite bulky last time - my question is what other car seats can I use with this frame & what adaptors are required? Thank you.
Hiya, Cee,
Apart from the SC car seats that require their own adapters, adapters for Maxi-Cosi/Cybex/Recaro/Kiddy/Joie car seats are available (all these and a few more car seats have the same system so it's just one pair of adapters).
You have to search for "Silver Cross Universal Car Seat Adaptors Pursuit Wayfarer Pioneer Horizon", and you can find those e.g. HERE on eBay, they look like this:
Can you add another pram seat so that in turns into a double? if so what accessories do I need to purchase?
Hello, Zack,
I am sorry but no, the Pursuit is not a single-to-double, and it doesn't convert into a double stroller, the frame is not strong enough for that. For a single-to-double model, check the Silver Cross Coast.
How do you adjust the straps on the Silver Cross pursuit please?
Hiya,
The way how to do it is explained in the manual included with the stroller. Here's one Silver Cross Pursuit stroller manual if you don't have it anymore.
In short, there's a liner/seat fabric pad and a plastic base, both with holes, that you need to tread the harness straps and their plastic buckles to adjust the height, and of course, to adjust their length with the buckles to suit your child. The pictures, I believe, will help more than words, so here you go:
Good luck!
Is there a cot attachment that you could buy that would fit the pursuit frame?
Hi, Debbie!
The Pursuit was designed for those savvy parents that do not want to pay or store a separate carrycot. The seat with the high apron is meant to be used from birth. So, officially, no, there is no official Pursuit carrycot that should and can be used with this frame.
Even if you went to a store and tried other Silver Cross bassinets and some attachment system would fit, it might still be bad for the center of gravity and therefore the push of this model, and it might not just be uncomfortable but damaging to the joining or straining the frame (as the stroller was not designed to be used like that).
If a separate carrycot is what you're after, I'd suggest looking at other models that offer and support this option.
