Mountain Buggy Terrain V3
The Mountain Buggy Terrain V3 is the third generation of the easily maneuverable [mountain-buggy-terrain-v1|Mountain Buggy Terrain]] with a high weight capacity, released in 2015. Three air-filled wheels equipped with pneumatic suspension can handle even a challenging terrain. The Terrain V3 comes with two sets of rear wheels included. You are now able to swap between the 12” urban wheels and the 16” off-road wheels. The front wheel also has a lever to adjust its tracking to keep it going straight. There are two brakes - the classical step-on brake and the decelerating disc brake situated on the handlebar. When it comes to the storage space, the stroller features a closable shopping basket with a doubled weight capacity as well as pockets on both sides of the hood and on the inside of the seat, suitable for all of your bits and pieces. Additionally, two fabric bottle holders with extra pockets can be added to the chassis.
Compared to the previous model, the Terrain V3 is 14 cm shorter and 16 cm more compact after folding. The Terrain V3 also features a simpler, one-hand fold. When folded, the chassis locks itself automatically thanks to the hidden mechanism. The improved seat is even more spacious - with a 60cm backrest, it will provide space and comfort even for a six-year-old. In addition to the shoulder straps, the buckle strap between the legs can also be adjusted to suit your child. The backrest and now also the leg rest can be reclined fully. The hood with the sun-visor is equipped with an improved viewing window with magnetic closures. There is also a pocket for a smartphone and a headset.
If you wish to use the Terrain V3 from birth, there is an option to attach either a car seat, a soft insert carrycot (the Mountain Buggy Cocoon) or the new Carrycot Plus. The Carrycot Plus can be used in three ways. Apart from the lie-flat option, you can attach the carrycot textiles differently to achieve an inclined mode, perfect for babies suffering from reflux. By using a different fabrics set, it can also be converted to a rear-facing bucket-type seat, which is an excellent transition between carrycot and forward-facing seat. Among other accessories, there is also an option to purchase the Freerider scooter that can be added to the chassis as a sibling board, a snack tray that can be attached into the bumper bar, winter skis for the front wheel, or a travel bag with wheels, protecting the stroller on your journeys.

Parent reviews of the Mountain Buggy Terrain V3
- Still the best off roader... till it fails
- You do need a large car!
I'm adding to my previous review, having lived with the MB Terrain for 6 months.
Still THE best for offroading... nothing beats it. It's ridiculously easy to move over rough ground or obstacles (we have lifted it over styles in fields !) and our baby sleeps... well like a baby... in it as the recline is great.
However... 6 months in we literally had the wheel fall off. In use. The quick release wheel mechanism has failed and one rear wheel will not stay in.. (it's the locator mechanism, not the wheel itself) Obviously a dangerous fault and I am waiting to see what MB customer services are going to do about it. Given the high cost of the buggy, they had better be good!
- Two sets of wheels.. which take seconds to swap over. Going shopping? Small(er) wheels Heading for the fields.. 16 inchers. Equally quick to remove and pop in a carrier bag if they are full of mud!
- High position, but full recline when it's nap time. Most of the sling seat all terrain pushchairs have a very laid back seat position. The MB terrain has a lovely upright seat until you decide to recline it..and it goes in many increments to flat so suits all ages
- Massive basket and pockets all over the place
- Lovely hood that is moveable to shade
- The handle has many positions so suits people of any height.
- So easy to push one handed!
- Recline straps are a little fiddly at first... but work well
- With the 16 inch wheels on it's a very tall buggy... probably too tall if you are a short person!
- It's fairly bulky so needs a decent car boot space
A buggy that is ACTUALLY all terrain!
I needed a pushchair that could handle going across seriously muddy fields, going through boggy meadows, up hills (and down) while caring for my grandson and walking a large dog at the same time.
Previously we had a premium 'all terrain' stroller ..an Icandy Peach jogger, which was comfortable and beautifully designed..but actually couldn't handle a real off road experience..we damaged the front wheel and chassis after getting stuck in serious mud!
SO... researched, reviewed, and decided to get a Mountain Buggy Terrain.
I'm glad we did! The baby was 8 months old when we bought it and I can see that it will be used for many children to come, and unlike many pushchairs it will actually fit until they are school age!
- Excellent push
- Perfect quality and design
- Super spacious
- Leg rest
Its perfect. Top class for me!
