Moon Flac

DISCONTINUED in 2018
see 3 parent reviews

Moon Flac is a stroller featuring an easily maneuverable urban chassis, the design of which was inspired by the iconic Quinny Zapp. Thanks to the foam wheels equipped with suspension, the Flac is primarily an urban stroller, but can occasionally handle uneven terrain as well. The simple braking system is activated as well as deactivated by pushing, without any need of lifting the pedal with your foot. The small-ish yet quite deep shopping basket is located slightly higher up. When the seat is reclined, you can access the basket from the side by unzipping it. Thanks to the 3D compact fold, the Flac, once folded, will fit even into smaller cars.

The fixed, front-facing seat is softly padded and can be reclined fully. It also features a soft insert. Using adapters, you can add an optional car seat and create a practical travel system. In 2017, the Flac was released in special editions such as the Flac Jeans with denim fabric and contrasting elements, Flac Sport in dark colors and dynamic red details, the Flac Style featuring the cream hood and a brown leatherette or the Flac Wood in dark colors with brown elements, inspired by wood. In 2018, the Flac was available in limited editions - Bear with a teddy bear pattern and the inner side of the hood in a kaleidoscopic pattern, and Coffee in black featuring a matching chassis and a brown detail on the wheels.

Rather for smaller babies

3

Rather for smaller babies - mine didn't fit in there as an 11 month old 🤔 But otherwise great, lightweight.

It has everything it should have

4
  • adjustable up to full lie flat
  • adjustable leg rest
  • easy to fold
  • can be unfolded with one hand
  • 5-point safety belts
  • does not have an extended canopy
  • small shopping basket

For me a very practical stroller, it has everything it should have. It folds very well and does not take up much space. It can be unfolded with one hand, which is very practical when you walk a lot by car and have to fold and unfold the stroller all the time. It also reclines very well, you can adjust the position you want with the drawstring at the back (it hasn't got stuck once yet); it also has an adjustable leg rest.

The fabric on the safety belly bar that goes between the legs is also a big plus (of course it can be unfastened). That way, if I only need to go a short distance, I don't have to strap the baby in with the seat belt and it won't fall out. The stroller is also easy to drive.

The minuses I see are the way the handle is shaped, it doesn't have an extended canopy and there is a small shopping basket.

  • lie-flat seat back
  • "hard" seat back and leg rest, not just fabric
  • long leg rest
  • belly bar with a crotch strap
  • maneuvering
  • compact fold
  • extendable hood
  • shock-absorbing is present, even if not too soft
  • a bit plastic-y, I am afraid it will get wobbly over time

A very affordable buggy - for the price, it has most of what we needed. We needed something simple yet functional as we don't use a pushchair much often anymore. And, simple as it is (look at the leg rest positioning), it looks good!

Your questions about the Moon Flac

1)

According to the specs the canopy can be removed, but how?

Hello, Jenny,

It should be possible to be removed from the stroller's chassis, but I cannot guarantee it can be detached from its own frame (for example for washing). Some moms, however, prefer putting down the hood to have more space for a larger toddler.

The canopy should be removed by pulling the rods out of their plastic base, which is never as simple as it sounds, I know. Try to find a mechanism on the sides to release them.

I also suggest reading the stroller's manual, and also our stroller cleaning and maintenance guide if planning to wash the stroller.
