The Maxi-Cosi Lila is a new stroller for 2019. The unique stroller has been designed to provide maximum comfort for the child. Thanks to the double-sided, ergonomic seat liner ShapeOfYou, your child will be like sitting on a cloud. The hood is featuring the integrated Nap-Keeper mosquito net that provides shade as well. The seat unit can be converted into the Quick-Bassinet - a pramette type of carrycot. You can also purchase other accessories - the optional Oria carrycot or the Jade carrycot that can be used instead of a car seat, also with an Isofix base. The Lila is compatible with Maxi-Cosi type car seats and can even be transformed into a tandem! By adding the optional Duo Kit, the front seat will suit an older child that is able to sit independently. Behind the front seat, you can add either a seat unit, a carrycot or a car seat. For easier manipulation, the Duo Kit comes with a special pedal that helps you to easily lift the stroller to handle street curbs smoothly.
The Lila comes equipped with the ultimate, extra spacious shopping that can be carried as a large shopping bag - practical when folding the stroller to fit in the car boot or for carrying your shopping. The Lila offers an extra simple fold. Once folded, because of the robust chassis, the stroller needs quite a lot of space. It can be folded single-handed, without the need to remove the seat from the chassis. Other optional accessories like the winter kit, the child tray, the parent organizer and others, are available.

Parent reviews of the Maxi-Cosi Lila
This pram is good for the price, my only complaint is the seat / bassinet duo is not great - the bassinet is not big enough, and the baby can't sleep comfortably because it needs the seatbelt all the time.
We got the double set version for our new birth and toddler, seems to work fine.
- Mosquito mesh
- Soft "mattress"
- heavy
- collapses all the time (unsafe)
- storage basket collapses when you put a bag at the bottom
- storage basket already fell out when I walked up a hill
- expensive
- bad steering (honestly terrible)
- hard to fold(since mine is broken from day1)
- almost inexistent peekaboo window
The stroller collapsed several times with my baby in it and luckily I had an arm handle attached (which does not come with the stroller), otherwise, my baby would have gone into the road! The wire came out of the mesh after having it for only 2 weeks. The stroller won't fold, it's heavy, the steering is absolutely terrible compared to strollers of my friends, the storage bag keeps collapsing when you put a bag at the bottom, and an almost inexistent PEEKABOO WINDOW!!!
Really overpriced for what you really get, won't recommend it at all! Stroller is in for repairs since it won't fold...
I do not recommend it.
This stroller is terrible. Considering the cost I expected better. I've only gently used this stroller for 6 months and it's already broken beyond repair. The central locking mechanism comes unlatched within minutes of use and has made my stroller collapse twice with my child in it. Save your money because this is garbage.
Having a lot of trouble attaching the Coral XP car seat to the Lila stroller. As well as a lot of other features on the Lila stroller. I watched every YouTube video, read every review, and I’m having the hardest time attaching the car seat can not get it to click. Although when the box for the stroller came, it was open. It may be possible a defective stroller that had been returned. Going a little insane, not going to lie. I bought this car seat because it looked easy, and the stroller was supposed to be compatible - but now it’s just a giant headache.
- Easy one hand fold down
- Mosquito net
- Infant insert
- Light to steer
- Flat recline for naps
- Faux leather handles are very comfortable
- Large accessible brakes
- Sturdy
- Great baby seat height for parents- not too high or low
- Comes with everything you need
- Comfy padding for bub
- Removable bag
- Bulky fold
- Heavy
- Cheap wheels
- No suspension
- Bottom bag falls and slides out occasionally
- Not great on suburban streets and tough terrain
As a first-time parent, this pram looked so ideal after comparing the value and all the features it has.
I loved it at first, slowly not so much after realizing just a few things that could have changed my mind if I had known better. What I do love is the simplicity of use of all the features. The mosquito net came in handy and is probably my most favorite feature. Also, the infant insert is so perfect for newborns, and the brakes are extremely handy being flip-flop friendly. It also attracted me as it felt less bulky out of other large-sized prams, although this probably means my child might outgrow it faster?
The things I don't love are the lack of suspension - if there's even any? It rides super smooth on smooth surfaces and steers so easily around corners etc.; however, on bumpy footpaths and grass, it's terrible and extremely bumpy for bub. The removable bag on the bottom I feel could have been better if they had an option of attaching to the pram, as sometimes I find the bag sliding out and falling straight off the pram, especially when you don't have much stored in there.
I think the pros outweigh the cons, so I am overall still happy with it; my husband loves it. We have yet to use it in duo mode.
- Sturdy chassis tubes
- Fabrics quality is gorgeous
- Newborn-friendliness
- Accessories available (like the extra basket or newborn cocoon)
- Easy-to-use brake
- Bulky fold
- Wheels feel cheaper, the pushchair clacks and clicks when moved
- Not spacious for the child, won't last that long
- Price is a bit high
The chassis feels sturdy, but the wheels feel much less so. The pram is also very bulky, even folded. I love how the fabrics feel high-quality, but somehow details are not as good as they should (mostly joints and wheels). And the part where you put your baby are somehow small - not spacious. But it looks very pretty, so I guess as a starter pram, it could work for those with larger car boots.
- Sturdy (at first)
- Overpriced
- Not strong/sturdy after some time
- Breaks easily
- Too big
- Company was not helpful
I bought this product as I thought it would last for a long time, and it also can be used as a double pram when you buy the part... I do not recommend buying this product - I bought mine only 8 months ago brand new, paid €799 for it (without the car seat) - I did not mind as I thought it was good, but it's not at all. The wires came out of the mosquito net, the handle is wobbly, and the wheel is broken - it won't turn. I've written to the company, and they were not much help, I do not recommend this pram!!
- Beautiful design
- Upholstery
- Tandem option
- Newborn insert
- Integrated mosquito net (in the hood)
- Bulky
- Heavy
- Less generous in space
- Hard to get up curbs with the older sibling in the front
- Not much suspension
As a tandem, you need to lift the front side up a curb, and that is where the older, therefore heavier child sits. Not the best design for that, it's quite difficult. But it looks good, the upholstery is so softly padded, and the canopies are also nice. It's bulky and on the heavier side, but for a sibling pram, it's fine. The insert for the newborn is such a good thing. The seat could be more spacious, though.
We bought it as a stroller for our kids that have one year between them. We are happy with it.
Your questions about the Maxi-Cosi Lila
Hi,
I have the Maxi-Cosi Lila (with the double seat package for the toddler at the front), I love this pram, but the seat/foldable bassinet is not great for the baby to sleep when we are away. I've been looking into purchasing the Maxi-Cosi Oria Bassinet but I'm not sure if the front seat would still fit having the bassinet in?
Hi, Lala,
Unfortunately, you won't be able to pair it up like that, with the Oria bassinet, the second seat will not fit on the frame - the bassinet is larger, and the modular seat is quite compact, made to fit there with the second seat. You can only use two seats (one in the foldable cor configuration) or a combo with a reclinable car seat (think Joie i-Level, Kiddy Evoluna, Cybex Cloud...).
Hi, what bassinet would work with Maxi Cosi Lila stroller?! Thank you!
Hi, Andrea,
The Lila is made so that the seat turns into a kind of bassinet, so parents wouldn't have to buy the usual carrycot. You can also attach Oria or Jade bassinet to it if needed. The newer bassinets might work but were not tested on this frame so I cannot promise you how well it push with others, though perhaps the ShapeOfYou carrycot should also be OK.
Hi Eli,
My Maxi Cosi Lila Modular Stroller is collapsing on itself while the kiddo is sitting inside. We haven't damaged it or anything. So I can't imagine why suddenly after 2 years of use it would start doing this. We are very gentle with it. Would you know how to trouble shoot this?
I tried writing to their customer service but haven't heard back yet.
Thanks for your help!
Heya, Tai,
The reason for this is most probably an internal wire that snapped (or the joint of the wires/internal mechanism that was holding it in its place), and that is not a thing you can repair by yourselves, I'm afraid. The wire or joint/púastic component holding it together will need to be replaced, most probably. So you can only try the customer service some more or try to find a stroller repair service or a Maxi-Cosi distributor around you. I am sorry for bringing up bad news but even I wouldn't know how to repair this by myself, without having the proper training and/or parts.
Btw, it is not your fault, I believe you were gentle with it. These models are made to be on the cheaper side, and having about two years, the component probably just wore down. I would also not use it anymore while the thing is not repaired as it can be a health hazard for your little one, the folding while still inside.
Is it machine washable?
Hey there!
No, unfortunately, the manufacturer (as most of them do) only recommends mild sponge cleaning and brushing the dirt off. The only thing you can machine wash is the seat liner.
Machine washing is, overall, not the best practice with strollers and could cause fading, tearing, and other damage to the fabrics. Read more about cleaning and best practices in this cleaning and maintenance guide we prepared.

Hey there!
The car seat attachment to the Lila should not make your head hurt, to be honest. I would love to help but can't really imagine your problem. If it doesn't click on properly, try to force it slightly into the car seat slots, and I also recommend leaving the adapters inside. Always detach the car seat with the adapters still on; it's easier - only release the memory buttons on the pushchair frame.
Check this Maxi-Cosi Lila car seat installation video from the manufacturer, the Maxi-Cosi brand, to see how to do it properly. If you do it exactly like that and it doesn't work, there might be a manufacturing problem - and you should file a complaint with the seller you got your travel system at. Be sure to use your pram only if it clicked in properly; otherwise, you risk it releasing while on the go, and it might fall off with the baby inside.
