The Maclaren Quest (also known as Quest Sport) is one of the most popular Maclaren strollers. It is a lightweight umbrella stroller suitable from birth. The lightweight aluminum frame with small wheels and soft suspension is perfect for zooming around town. Although the seat has patented panels on the backrest as well as the leg rest in order to protect a smaller baby, a soft carrycot is available to buy additionally, providing even greater comfort. The seat is well padded and suitable also for older children due to higher weight capacity and the large, spacious seat.

In 2016, The Maclaren Quest underwent a facelift. The 2016 Quest features removable wheels, quilted seat fabric and an extending, UPF50+ hood. The Quest was also released in special editions belonging to Maclaren Objects of Design: colorful Dylan’s Candy Bar, Orla Kiely design collaboration and jeans-inspired Denim.

Great

4

It's actually great.

  • For a buggy, I would rate its suspension as above standard
  • Easy to remove fabrics for washing
  • My son rides it nicely, sometimes I have trouble getting him to walk on his own with the Quest
  • Easy to fold
  • The manufacturer lists one-handed operation as one of the main advantages. I wonder if they tried it with a child.... One-handed with any load is soooo uncomfortable and I've never been able to use it that way
  • The canopy gets dirty when we fold it

A very nice, stylish stroller, well made. Lightweight and great to store. We bought it for better public transport travel and it fulfils this perfectly.

  • lightweight
  • compact
  • beautiful fabrics
  • short backrest
  • flips over if you hang a bag on the handles
  • expensive
  • inaccessible basket when the seat is reclined

For how much a new one costs, I am not that crazy about it. The fabrics are higher-quality, and it didn't rattle even being bought pre-loved. The folding and all other functions worked well and were easy to operate.

The basket is not accessible when your little one is napping. When I hanged a bag on the handles while the stroller was empty, it just flipped over - this I minded the most. The backrest is short - my 37" (94cm) son has his head already over the end of the backrest.

Your questions about the Maclaren Quest

1)

Is it suitable for 25 kilos and above kids?

Hi, Durga,

In theory, yes, it is, as it can handle a lot, weight-wise. Your kid will even fit inside with most probability, but I would definitely recommend the Maclaren Techno XLR rather than this one as it os larger, more robust, and will such a child better. Also, remember that such a weight category will be a bit cramped in any stroller, so don't expect an infinity of space.

2)

I need a carry bag for the Maclaren Quest stroller to go in the plane hold. Where can I get one?

Hiya, Nanna,

I would definitely get a universal one through Amazon or eBay. Just put 'Gate Check Bag for Single Umbrella Strollers' and you can pick one. ^_^

3)

How is it on trails?

I'd like to use it for baseball and we have to walk through paths and sometimes bumpy trails of gravel or sticks leaves etc

Hi, Jay,

I am sorry to say that as an umbrella buggy (more here), this stroller is definitely not good on any worse terrain. The small doubled foam-covered wheels won'' do great on gravel, sticks nor bumps, you will have to pull it behind you pretty surely. If you need comfort on such harsher surfaces, you need something sturdier = heavier, bulkier, and with large wheels.
