Hauck Twister

DISCONTINUED in 2016

The Hauck Twister, as its name suggests, is a stroller with a specifically-shaped chassis with a unique 360-degree rotation that allows you to reverse the seat (or other parts) while still attached on the chassis. The reversing mechanism is operated with the handle, which can be lifted and twisted using a lever. The seat is fully reclinable and suitable mostly for younger children. It comes with a bold, shaped seat liner. The stroller is either sold separately, in a travel system with a car seat (Hauck Twister Shop´n Drive), in a 2in1 stroller system with a carrycot (Hauck Twister Duo Set) or, most commonly, in a 3in1 stroller system with a carrycot and a car seat Hauck Twister Trio Set.

Your questions about the Hauck Twister

1)

The brake on mine is broken, the attachment has come off, can I replace it, or fix it in any way?

Heya, ruthie,

I am sorry to say that if the plastic part/the part needing to be pushed broke and fell off, you cannot really fix it by yourself just so. There usually are spare parts available for things like brake, even though they are usually the cables (wires) from the brake. The installation will be, however, also hard, even if you did manage to find the part.

These, or any other spare parts are usually provided by the manufacturer or the seller you bought your pram at, meaning you should actually contact THE seller you got your model from, or any seller of this model or the Hauck brand in your area, asking for help with the brake. Ideally, send pictures to him/her through an explanatory email so that they know what exactly is wrong.

Again, installing a new pedal would be much more complicated in your case, so they should probably help you with that or at least recommend a service. It might be possible that with such a cheap-ish brand as Hauck is, they won't be able to provide you the part nor a service... so you'll see after trying. If nothing works, however, you will only have to get a new stroller, unfortunately.

I wish you the best of luck!

2)

Is there another car seat that I can purchase that will be compatible with this stroller?

Hey, Jaci,

Unfortunately, no, only Hauck car seats are compatible with almost all Hauck strollers. Mainly on the older model, like the Twister is, you won't find any adapters available to attach other, better-known car seat brands. The advantage of that, apart from the advantage for the Hauck company, is that their car seats often click on the stroller frame right away, without needing any adapters.

3)

Hi there,

Can you please advise me it’s ok if I buying this for my 10m baby? It’s good with all the functions or just a waste of my money?? Please help me I’m still confusing...

Hi, Noura,

It's OK for a 10-month-old baby, lie-flat-wise as well as overall ergonomics. The higher seat unit is also nice as you'll be bonding with the baby. That said, the Hauck strollers quality is lower, overall, and you'll feel it in the plastics and overall suspension and performance. If you're not too demanding and won't use it on harsh terrain - just on normal city walks, you should be fine. As a reversible stroller however, do count on needing one lighter, more spacious later on.

I personally would go for a world-facing lightweight stroller already around those 10 months of age, but if you need a reversible model, for the time being, I totally understand you don't want to go for something expensive for the time being.
