Handy and high quality buggy

4
  • Low weight
  • Easy folding into compact dimensions
  • Full lie-flat
  • Entirely washable
  • Extended canopy
  • Carrying capacity over 20kg
  • It is not possible to walk backwards with it (the rear wheels come apart and brake the reverse) - i.e. falling asleep on the spot is problematic
  • Lack of accessories (apron, rain cover)
  • Pebbles get stuck in the wheels a bit (smooth wheels)

Handy and high quality buggy with extended canopy - and washable.

  • High load capacity (20 kg+)
  • Can be reclined to full lie-flat
  • Adjustable footrest
  • Spacious, suitable for larger children
  • Has a belly bar that can be removed and opened
  • Extendable canopy with transparent window
  • Washable covers
  • Easy to fold - stands up on its own
  • Compact - fits in the car boot
  • It is lightweight
  • It is relatively easy to handle
  • The front wheels swivel, they can be "locked"
  • It also has reflective elements
  • The wheels show wear quickly (from an aesthetic point of view) - they pick up pebbles right after the first ride
  • Small storage basket
  • Compared to the 2x4 version my sister has, the 2x2 "rattles" more when riding
  • Does not come with accessories (mosquito net, rain cover) - you need to buy this extra

Overall, I rate the Gesslein S5 2x2 (or even the 2x4 my sister has) as a very good umbrella buggy or complementary travel stroller.

Due to the wheels not being all-terrain (and with no suspension) it serves more as an urban stroller for normal terrain.

If you're thinking of buying a golf buggy I'd recommend investing, Gesslein is a really good quality German brand, and despite being a golf buggy, it's sturdy, roomy, and so suitable for bigger kids - for longer periods of time.

It has other extras, too - it can be reclined to a full lie-flat, it features an extended canopy, detachable belly bar, etc. (see pros and cons)

The stroller doesn't offer the option of reversing the seat, but that's probably not expected when you buy an umbrella pushchair :-)
