Swedish brand Brio is best known for their wooden toys. The basket-maker Ivar Bengtsson founded the company in 1884 in a small Swedish town Osby. In 1908, his three sons took over and the name BRIO has risen. It is an acronym for Bröderna ("the brothers") Ivarsson [at] Osby. The company was focusing on their wooden toys and minimalistic furniture until 2004 when the Swedish investment company Proventus became the major shareholder of Brio. Since then, Brio has added strollers and high chairs to their portfolio. One of the most popular Brio strollers was the functional Go. In 2013, Britax bought the rights for Brio strollers and car seats. The modernized version of the Go as well the Smile is still available under the Britax brand.
