Baby Jogger is an American brand of strollers, car seats, and accessories launched in 1984. It focuses on the needs of the baby and the parent.
A dad and a journalist Phil Baechler wanted to spend more time with his little son, but he didn’t want to give up his favorite hobby - jogging. No conventional strollers available at that time suited his needs. This motivated him to design the very first stroller suitable for jogging (a Baby Jogger) and to launch The Baby Jogger Company. Two years later, the tandem stroller Twinner, also suitable for jogging, was launched. Originally, there was no option of folding these strollers. It was, however, introduced in the second generation (the Baby Jogger 2 and the Twinner 2), along with the possibility of removing the wheels with no need for any tools. In 2003, The Baby Jogger Company was on the brink of bankruptcy and the management has changed. The company’s focus turned to lightweight strollers, and the Quick Fold Technology was introduced. In 2007, the iconic City Mini and the luxurious, all-terrain City Elite were launched. The hybrid stroller, suitable for everyday walks l jogging - the Summit 360 - was introduced in 2009. Later, the Summit X3 was launched, based on the Summit 360. In 2010, one of the world’s most popular tandem strollers - the City Select - was launched and immediately earned many awards. A year later, the popular City Versa followed. The seat of the City Versa can be folded in half, which enabled the Quick Fold technology to be used even with a reversible stroller. Since then, the brand has only continued to grow. The diverse Baby Jogger portfolio also includes the ultra-compact City Mini Zip or the all-terrain version of the City Mini, the City Mini GT. In 2015, the Baby Jogger brand was sold, and from then on, it belongs to the global Graco brand.
