ABC Design Samba
The ABC Design Samba is an all-terrain capable but predominantly urban model launched for 2021 (at the end of 2020). This stroller system boasts clean lines, a high - 22kg weight capacity of the seat unit while being on the lighter, more compact side.
The Samba is the more all-terrain version of a lighter and more bugdet-friendly ABC Design Swing.
The differences between the ABC Design Samba and the ABC Design Swing
The Samba, compared to the Swing, has almost 5 cm larger front wheels, and all its wheels are covered in rubber (as opposed to Swing's foam). Also, the Swing, as a more budget-friendly model, is available in fewer fabric colorways than the Samba. The weight of the Samba with the seat unit attached is a bit higher than the Swing's, and the Samba folded size is, even if by a centimeter, slightly larger.
The spacious click-on parts - the carrycot as well as the seat - feature extendable canopies with ventilation, and there's the lie-flat option along with comfortable padding inside. There are different colorways to choose from, with even special Fashion editions to opt for or the luxurious Diamond collection with quilted upholstery. The recycled Midnight color fabrics are also an option for those eco-conscious. Different accessories are available to purchase separately depending on your needs. The Maxi-Cosi and Britax-Römer car seat compatibility to create a travel system are also at your convenience.

Parent reviews of the ABC Design Samba
- Quality
Woeful quality. Hands down the worst child related product we have purchased, and probably the most expensive. The break broke after a year (our neighbours had the same model and the same problem). Now at 16 months, the mechanism for adjusting the angle of the sport seat has broken.
- value for the price (you get so much more than you'd expect)
- looks gorgeous
- nice and large wheels that are not in danger of a puncture
- spacious bassinet and seat
- telescoping handle covered in PU leather
- I'd add softness to the shock absorbers
- fabrics on the canopies could be thicker
- basket could be larger
- for a smaller pram, it could be more compact
Fantastic value for money. I love the large wheels that don't get a puncture. And there's so much space for the baby in both the pram and the pushchair. Recommended.
Your questions about the ABC Design Samba
Hi,
Between ABC Samba and Joie Aeria, which do you think is better when it comes to suspension? I'd like to take my child out for walks on a gravel path regularly.
Which out of the two strollers do you recommend is better overall?
Thanks in advance!!
Hello, Pri,
Both of the prams you mention are rather nice, push-wise, though the more all-terrain - with better suspension - would be the Samba in my opinion. The larger front wheels are often a good indicator of a bit better terrain / bumpy roads features.
I think both are, quality-wise, rather nice, though I think you will be happier with the Samba. It feels a bit sturdier and more spacious as well.
Hi there,
I’m currently trying to decide between the ABC Samba and the Peg Perego Veloce as they’re both on my shortlist after having considered quite a few brands/models! I live on a hill and have cobbled streets all around me, so I’m looking for something that can tackle both. I’ve ruled out the Cybex Talos and Nuna Mixx Next as they both seem quite heavy and when folded they’re both quite bulky.
What would be your view between the Samba and the Veloce? I’ve read reviews that the suspension on the Veloce isn’t all that great… Many thanks!
Heya,
I would personally definitely go with the Samba over the Veloce. The Peg-Pérego strollers do feel rattly and wobbly, especially over time, so for cobbles and bumps, I would not really go for that one. The Samba is a bit sturdier and the rear wheels chunkier, meaning a bit more comfort on the terrain you're describing.
Hi,
We live in suburban area, might need to use public transport when the baby is 1 year or older. The roads are not gravel but can be quite bumpy here. Stroller would also be used in quite uphill/downhill areas. Would you recommend getting Moon ReSea S or ABC Design Samba?
Hey again, mimy,
For uphill/downhill walks, the lighter option is often the better. The same goes for public transport. For bumpy roads, on the other hand, larger wheels - like the Samba's - are a huge advantage.
All in all, from these two, I personally would probably go for the Samba, to be honest, as the seat is larger than the ReSea's, and you may use it longer - especially when taking the bumpy roads into account. But definitely think about the lifting of the pram - if lifting it in public transport will be happening very often, you might want to go for the lighter option.
