Maxi-Cosi Lara²: A budget-friendly compact stroller for the older child - Maxi-Cosi Lara², Joie Pact, or something else?

Estelle Garanhão • 16 Feb 2023

Hello :)

I have the stroller Maxi Cosi Adorra 2 (a perfect stroller in my opinion), and now I want to purchase a very compact stroller for a baby with 17 months because the Adorra 2 will be for the newborn. Having a 150/200 euros budget, I want to ask if Lara 2 is a good purchase? Better than Joie Pact for example..? I know that Lara 2 can handdle a baby until 22kg, and Joie Pact until 19,5kg.

In Portugal the sidewalks are very irregular and therefore the wheels have to be resistant... in terms of stability of wheels, which one is the best? There is another stroller that fits this condition?

Thank you!

Heya, Estelle,

I'm afraid that such a small buggy will be a pain for a 17 months old, especially so if you mean it for everyday use and on uneven surfaces. The double wheels will be more stable, but also will rattle more, and the seat will be small, narrow for a toddler. Peronsally, I think the Lara2 will hold up a but better in some aspects, compared to the Joie Pact, but it is not a long lasting solution and will not be very comfortable.

I would suggest looking at something a bit higher quality (e.g. a pre-owned, second-hand Joolz Aer) for your older child, as you need a better frame and a taller seatback... OR looking at a bit larger strollers, with roomier seats and ith a bit larger wheels - e.g. the Oyster Zero, the Valco Snap 4, the Quinny Zapp Xpress... they are light (around 7 kg) and compact enough, but a tad larger so much, much more comfortable.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
