Thule Spring
.eli
The Thule Spring is new for February 2020. True to the tradition of the Thule strollers, it is a three-wheeler. Compared to its big brothers Glide and Urban Glide, both suitable for jogging, the Spring is much more compact, narrower and predominantly urban. Size- and folding-wise, it is similar to the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 or the Britax B-Agile M, while one of its unique features would be the unique fold involving lifting the seat panel to access a solid, plastic lever. Pulling the lever up will make the entire stroller fold into itself, making it narrower. Once folded, the Spring is, therefore, ultimately compact - up to 30 % more compact than the competition. Besides, the stroller stands by itself when folded, making it much easier to store. Another specific feature of the Spring is the telescopically adjustable handlebar - usually, this type of stroller is either equipped with a fixed, or a rotating handlebar. The shopping basket located underneath the seat can take up to 21 liters.
The softly padded, spacious seat can be reclined quite deeply, but not to a full lie-flat. The leg rest is, however, not adjustable. Thanks to the unique shape of the leg rest and the easily adjustable shoulder straps of the 5-point safety harness, your child will be able to climb aboard easily. Another bonus is the extendable, extra-large hood with a large closable window. The ventilation window located behind the reclined backrest will be appreciated during summer days’ naps. Using corresponding adapters, car seats with Maxi-Cosi types of attachments can be used. Chicco adapters are available too. All other accessories for the Spring - the sibling board, the bumper bar, the snack tray, seat liners, a carry bag, and more - are optional and available to purchase separately.

Parent reviews of the Thule Spring
- Maneuverability
- Hood size (and interchangeability)
- Compactness
- Leg rest doesn't adjust
We own it - ad it's great. Very maneuverable, it's a great push suitable even for terrain. Even though the rear wheels don't have suspension, the hanging seat helps absorb shocks. The hood is nice and large. I have the black on black version and planning to get the blue marl as well. It is nicely compact to fit into our car boot. Recommended.
- driveability
- storage basket
- stiff suspension
- canopy design
I like our Spring, I must say. To my surprise, however, it is rather stiff in the suspension area, and I also don't like the canopy. It is too close and strangely-designed. On the other hand, the pushchair has a fantastic maneuverability, I can push it with one hand! And the underslung basket is heaven 🤩
I am thinking about swapping it for something with softer suspension - but I am afraid it be worse to push 🙈
- No leg rest adjusting
- Not reversible
Super-smooth push.
Not that soft of a ride.
It can go through meadows and forest roads.
Small, compact, perfect for city use.
Huge canopy with extensions.
Not a full lay-flat, but it's deep enough.
Telescopic handlebar suitable even for taller people.
Excellent basket accessibility.
Spacious basket.
One-hand, one-step folding.
Takes up only a little space when folded.
Comfortable even for an older toddler - up to 22 kg.
- Lightweight
- Super easy to push
- Simple one-hand fold
- Almost a 180-degree lie-flat seat
- Extendable canopy with ventilation mesh
- Large basket
- Possibility to purchase a bumper bar if you need it
- It could have had more suspension
A super-easy to push, compact urban pushchair.
- low weight
- awesome maneuverability, perfectly nimble (I think it's the three wheels)
- spacious
- nice canopy (even if the design looks weird at first glance)
- optional other hood colors - great for later changes of the look
- well-made, quality materials
- I miss a leg-rest adjustment
- not used to a three-wheeler to pop-up a curb (takes some adjusting)
- the pull-up flap over the folding handle looks funny and feels clumsily made, but the fold works well overall
Super stylish, in a sporty way. I really like the high quality and the space for the child, even though I was used to an adjustable leg rest on my stroller system before. Very nimble, perfect for the city, and a larger toddler.
Your questions about the Thule Spring
Dear Eli,
As Thule Spring is thought for kids from 6 months old, there is no Thule bassinet/carrycot for this model. Do you think some kind of a universal carrycot could be used for a newborn? Thank you!
Heya, Egle,
The stroller is not meant to be used with a carrycot, you are right. What can be done, though, is to use a reclinable car seat instead, for ex. a Joie i-Level or the Kiddy Evoluna line, with the Maxi-Cosi adaptors it will work.
Apart from that, the Cot To Go from GB could be used, I believe, with the same adapters, however I cannot say how the center of gravity changes, and it could look funny over the song. I cannot recommend this way, but it should be possible.
Lastly, you could get a soft, insert cot / coccoon, for ex. from Hauck, britax or Valco Baby (just ask around in any larger baby shop, they will probably have some), and insert it in the reclined seat - it should create a cozy enough environment for a newborn.
