The Riko Nano (also known as the Nano Alu Tech because of the aluminum chassis) is a simpler version of the affordable Brano stroller system. The air-filled wheels are equipped with a soft suspension system; the rear suspension is adjustable. Compared to the Brano, there is no central suspension. The oval, plastic carrycot is quite spacious and can be inclined. The seat unit is smaller and can be reclined fully. Both the carrycot and the seat unit are reversible. By adding the optional car seat, the basic 2in1 stroller system can be transformed into a travel system. The Nano comes with a wide range of essential accessories. The Flower Collection version featuring fabrics with a floral pattern was also released.

  • Large spacious bassinet
  • Reversible
  • Price
  • The seat unit is poorly balanced
  • Takes up a lot of space when folded

We were satisfied with the pram in the end, but we had it practically only as an accessory to wearing the baby in a wrap. Otherwise, I would have invested in something better.

Great for both the city and the countryside

It's great for both the city and the countryside.

  • spacious bassinet
  • suitable for the terrain
  • aprons
  • the wheels broke after half a year
  • squeaked
  • the backrest on the seat was jamming
  • the canopy on the car seat was falling off

I won't write about the car seat, it's just a piece of plastic. We only used it for the journey home from the maternity ward.

The bassinet is deep and room and great, also great are the vents in its canopy. The apron was also great, you could zip it all the way up so it doesn't blow into the carriage. Super satisfaction there.

I then used the seat. The stroller started to squeak after a while, the plastic on the wheels, when inflating, broke all over. The canopy on the seat unit was very impractical to put down with buttons that were on the inside.

I appreciated that there were insulated aprons for each part. The stroller takes up the whole trunk and we have a big car.

I am very satisfied with the stroller. The carrycot lasted - thanks to its space - until the 10th month of the child.

It is easy to steer, it can handle really any terrain. The seat version is also great, it can be put in the reclining position - the baby sleeps beautifully, and it is spacious to the point of being overly spacious.

Price-quality ratio is just perfect

  • Good handling thanks to swivel wheels
  • Spacious cot
  • Price
  • Every part can face any direction - both the carry cot and the seat
  • Weight - but it doesn't bother me that much

I recommend it. A superb stroller. Fits in our small car boot, so size is not a problem. Price-quality ratio is just perfect.

With a larger baby, you enjoy the roomy

I had it with my 2nd son and I have nothing bad to say up on it. With a larger baby, you enjoy the roomy carrycot, it is spacious, also nice, comfortable, easy to use... I'm already sad after being done with it.

The weight was not ok

2
  • Design
  • Heavy

For me the stroller was nice, but the weight was not ok. Also the seat part was narrow and impractical.

Heavy, but the carrycot is large, so that's a plus for me, we only have the seat part for heavier terrain... I liked the fact that it's tall, as I'm tall myself - and I don't have to bend down to it.

  • Large carrycot with backrest incline
  • Easy manipulation
  • Insulation
  • Easy to fold and unfold
  • Nice design
  • I found none

An excellent stroller system. Large, air-filled wheels I only inflated once - and they lasted almost one and a half of the season without any need to do it again! The carrycot is large - nothing like the miniature Stokke carrycot, where the child cannot even turn over. Spacious and insulated, so the baby is nice and warm. The child's head can be lifted thanks to the inclining function, and for that I was grateful - when my little girl was bigger and wanted to see everything 🙂 For me a very nice, big stroller system that folds very easily (just squeeze one button) 🙂 For those who don't look for a designer stroller system for crazy amounts of money, this should be the perfect middle ground...

Your questions about the Riko Nano

1)

Hi,

I live in Ireland and got the Riko Nano Alu Tech second-hand and I am trying to get adaptors for my Maxi-Cosi car seat. But I don’t find where to buy it from. What would be my options? Thanks!

Hi, Luci,

I am sorry to hear that, but you might just not be in luck. These prams need their own adapters and they are not available just so, usually sold with the pram when you ask for them. I would try to find any Riko seller around you and ask him or try to write to Riko's customer service here, describing your problem. Also, try browsing classifieds, finding adapters for the Nano or Brano lines which are the same.

Here's, also, our article about replacement and spare parts that you might use in this situation.

Hello. We are planning a trip to the mountains. There is a lot of rocks. Do you think this buggy can handle that kind of road?

Thanks, Nerida

Hey Nerida,

Sure it can - I mean, I wouldn't even call it a buggy. This is a full-size, robust pram with large air-filled wheels and an adjustable suspension system. Such stroller systems are heavy and bulky, so maybe not the best for trips since they take up most (or all) of your car boot, but if space is not your concern and the elaborateness of the seat unit also doesn't matter as much (simple will suffice), then yes, this might be a pram for you and your mountain trip 😊 I will warn you, though - the seat of the Riko Nano is really on the smaller side and will last you about a year at the most.
