Maxi-Cosi Mura 3

DISCONTINUED in 2012
see 4 parent reviews

The Maxi-Cosi Mura 3 (in a contrast to a four-wheel version, the Mura 4) is a robust three-wheel stroller with an original seat designed with an emphasis on the comfort of the baby. The sturdy and relatively wide chassis with air-filled wheels can handle even rough terrain. The Mura 3 can be folded with the seat unit attached, but for a more compact and easier fold, the seat should be taken off the chassis.

An ergonomically shaped seat with an original T-bar is extra padded. The seat covers are easily removable and washable. The reversible seat unit can be reclined flat, including the adjustable leg rest. You just need to pull a lever at the back of the seat, and the unit can be taken off. A spacious carrycot and a number of car seats are available to create a full-featured combination. Thanks to adapters for the carrycot with the memory buttons, you can take it off using just one hand. The car seat adapters are integrated into the ones for the carrycot; you only need to flip them out. The older models of the Mura 3 can be identified by the missing pop-out sun visor on the hood.

Price incomparably higher than quality

  • Solid chassis
  • Great design for summer
  • Unsatisfactory covers (spots even from just water)
  • Impractical in winter - poor wind protection
  • Price incomparably higher than quality

A stroller for the summer.

Great all-terrain stroller

Great all-terrain stroller. ✨

A good stroller system

3
  • Good driveability
  • Good maneuverability
  • Comfort
  • Carrycot size
  • Memory buttons
  • Bulky
  • Heavy
  • Seat fabrics cannot be washed, and any dirt is immediately visible

The Mura 3 is a good stroller system.

  • Comfortable even in bad terrain
  • A truly well-padded, soft seat unit, comfy even for a small baby
  • Sturdy chassis
  • Large carrycot
  • Large folded dimensions
  • Heavier than other prams
  • Seat unit could have a longer surface - older children's feet will probably dangle during naps

I was very happy with it. The seat is very comfy, reversible, plus the full lay-flat. The carrycot is spacious, with a long mattress - but here's no inclining option. The chassis is sturdy, with suspension (but it's not that soft), +air-filled tires. I had the first version of the Mura with a large canopy - I know that after some redesign, the seat canopy was later smaller. The only downside for me was the bulky fold.

Your questions about the Maxi-Cosi Mura 3

1)

I'm six foot tall - is the handle height good? I'll be using it daily and rough terrain,

Thank you

Hiya, Hil,

The handle doesn't offer much range for very tall people, it goes from 100 cm (39 inch) to 106 cm (41.7 inch). I mean, it SHOULD be enough, my hubby is 6.1 feet tall and was OK (not ultra-comfy but fine) with similar heights of handlebars, saying he would appreciate a few more centimeters but it doesn't bother him.

The general advice is, then, that it should be good, I believe, but a bit higher push bar height range would probably be a slightly better fit even. The best way is to try, of course, but if you can=t and the price is very good, I would still go for it. This model is sturdy and good for terrain, too (it is also on the heavier side).
