Kinderkraft Pilot

see 3 parent reviews

The Kinderkraft Pilot is an ultra-lightweight, ultra-compact stroller, ideal for the city or travels. Thanks to the weight of 12,8 lbs (5.8 kg) and a width of only 16,5” (42 cm), you will not struggle even in the narrowest shopping aisles. The spacious seat can handle even an older child, and it is possible to recline it to an almost flat position. The leg rest is missing, which is not ideal if your tall child enjoys naps in the stroller. The advantage of this stroller is also the comfortable, one-hand fold with a double locking system and an integrated carry strap for easy transport - you can pull the stroller behind you like luggage. The Pilot comes with a cup holder, and a rain cover included.

  • Lightweight
  • Compact
  • Small
  • Suspension
  • Handy wheels
  • Short canopy
  • Occasionally the stroller is more difficult to unfold
  • Difficult to negotiate uneven road/sidewalks

I am very satisfied with the stroller, it meets what I was looking for: to be small, smart and lightweight. My little one likes to ride in it, the bumper bar is like a steering wheel :-) All the accessories are included, and that was a big plus for me (rain cover, footrest, cup/bottle holder).

  • Low weight
  • Ease of manipulation
  • Very nice to push
  • The backrest adjustment is one of the more difficult ones

An excellent 'travel' stroller for occasional use. Very compact, very easy to push.

Your questions about the Kinderkraft Pilot

1)

I have the pink Pilot stroller by kinderkraft and going to mexico soon and wondering if it fits in the overhead compartment in a plane I'm just really nervous about pushing it on the plane and it not fitting? Thanks

Hey, Cailee,

The flded Pilot dimensions have one side 60cm long. I think some airlines could accept this, however, not all, and it very much depends on which airline you go with, and their rules and requirements. I would check with them and decide based on that, but it may be this one is just a tiny bit larger than the carry-on size.

Hello, I've been trying to clean the stroller but it is impossible to remove the fabric to put it in the washing machine, there is a way to do it?

Hi, Jennifer,

This stroller (and most others, too) are not designed for the fabrics to be washed in the machine - it would damage and weaken the fabric, and also the design would have to be much more complicated (and therefore more expensive). HERE is our article about cleaning your stroller, I believe it will help for you to read that! ^_^

Hello,

I am shortly going on a very long trip with my Kinderkraft pilot & am looking for a travel bag that will fit it. Is there one I can purchase?

Thanks :)

Hello, Jaimee,

Actually pretty much any universal one should. Moms even use the IKEA DIMPA bag which I actually really recommend for that price (nice and durable, but simple, not pretty, really). Apart from that, my own suggestion would be to go to Amazon and search for a "stroller travel bag", any that has the features you need will do - I mean, it is not really a daily-use product. If you need some brands that can be recommended, though, the bag for the Ergobaby Metro should work fine, the Elodie Details travel bag is simpler but protects well, or check the Maxi-Cosi Ultra Compact bag.

I've recently purchased a universal footmuff for my Pilot stroller. I'm having trouble fitting it due to the bar. Is there anyway of fitting it?

Hello, Ali,

Unfortunately, no, there's no comfy way. The bar makes it pretty impossible to fit a regular, universal cosytoes of any kind. This is a super-light travel stroller so they were not thinking of footmuffs here. I can only suggest trying to find a footmuff with SEPARATE legs (e.g., Stokke once had such, but I believe there's more, depending on the country you're in, of course, the brand will change) - OR a winter overall for you baby instead a footmuff might work. Check, for example, a 7AM Enfant Nido for reference, or look at footmuffs for car seats.

Again, this is not a winter stroller by far, it is too small and simple with not too much space inside, so it wasn't designed to be used so - that is why you might be having problems.
