Your questions about the Hauck Rapid 4R Plus
Hello,
The car seat never seems fully secure on the pushchair. I always hear it click in but it’s always very slanted back and it rocks a lot! Is this normal? Or am I not putting it on correctly. I do lift the car seat up when clicked in and it doesn’t come off.
Hi, Hollie,
Well, no, it is not normal. A bit of looseness is ok, but a LOT of rocking after clicking on is not alright. There may be some problem with your piece so I would try to contact the seller or the customer service.
Hey,
Is the carrycot safe for overnight sleeping? I’m going away but don’t want to take a travel cot
Hello, Hollie,
No, none of the Hauck carrycots is certified nor breathable enough for overnight sleeping. I would rather take a travel cot than risk the health of my kid overnight in this rather basic carrycot, to be honest.
How do I swap the stroller for the flat lying compartment? Do I need to remove the whole section?
Hi, Sammi,
Yes, unfortunately, if you want to use it with the carrycot, you will have to remove the whole seat. The best is to consult the Hauck Rapid 4R Plus manual here for that, it is not a completely straightforward process.
Is the stroller seat, once assembled onto the frame, both rear facing and front facing? Does it face parent or the other way or both?
Hi, San,
The seat is forward-facing only, so it can only face the street and cannot be reversed to face the parent.
Hello!
My question would be regarding the car seat. How long can it be used? I am a bit stuck regarding the choice between purchasing a stroller+carry cot combination with an additional car seat or purchasing a travel set like this one. If we use this car seat, how long the baby can stay in it one time? Is it good for walking around in it also or should the carrycot be used for a longer period of time?
Thank you for your answer!
Vera
Hi, Vera,
The Hauck car seat is actually a nice one in terms of safety, and size-wise, it is pretty much average, meaning it should last you about 8-10 months in reality (for smaller babies, up to a year+, approximately). It is possible to use on the frame, but it is highly advisable not to use it for longer periods of time, just for the car or a very very quick shop trip, but already 30+ minutes in the car seat put a LOT of strain on the baby's neck and spine, and they can suffer from problems caused by this later in life - the best position is the lie-flat one. So, for super quick trips, the car seat is ok, but for longer ones, a carrycot or a lie-flat seat with a cocoon is definitely much better.
Can this pram/stroller go on the aeroplane? As it folds so small, can it go on the actual aeroplane?
Hi, Shannon,
Well, the answer is yes and no. If you mean to take it as a piece of cabin luggage WITH YOU in the cabin, that would be a NO. This is not an ultracompact stroller (read more about those HERE), it is a light mid-size forward-facing one.
However, you CAN take it with you as the baby's luggage (often that is free till certain age of the baby). They will take the stroller when you will be boarding (kind of under the stars of the plane) and they will take it in the back and store it. When getting off the plane, the stroller will be returned to you.
If you would think of an ultra-compact to get (wanting the stroller with you in the cabin), inspire yourself with the top 2021 ultra-compact strollers in this article.
