Hauck Rapid 3R

The Hauck Rapid 3R is a modern looking variation of the Rapid 3 with round shapes, elegant fabrics, extended and improved hood, and a stylish two-tone, structure-specific chassis. One of the most significant advantages is the ultra-fast, one-handed fold done by pulling the strap on the seat, which makes the Rapid 3R an ideal stroller in or outside the city. Thanks to a suspension and three larger wheels with a distinctive tire profile, this stroller can even handle terrain that is more demanding. The spacious, fixed seat with a weight capacity of up to 25 kg can be reclined fully. For the smallest children, the Rapid 3R is available as a 3in1 stroller system and comes with a carrycot and a well-reviewed car seat, that can be added directly onto the chassis.

Best Deals for Hauck Rapid 3R
Parent reviews of the Hauck Rapid 3R
- Lightweight
- Very good maneuverability
- Great price-performance ratio
- Extendable canopy
- Slight suspension
- Full recline
- Spacious, accessible storage basket
- Only three positions of the (rotating) handlebar
- The front bumper bar is quite low-positioned - I don't think it surrounds and protects the child enough. When my DS tried to turn or leaned on the side, I was afraid of him possibly falling out
- The brake is in an arched form, so I kicked it when walking quickly or ran down a hill
- The recline is strap-operated, which is not a negative point by itself, but I don't like that even when fully upright, the backrest is still angled, half sitting
- The folding/carrying strap is located on the sitting part, and it was not comfortable for my son to sot on - we had to get a padded seat liner to make it better
We bought this stroller as our third. I would like to establish that the price was essential for us, and we wanted a new one - also to have the warranty if something happens.
OIt is very lightweight and easy to push even one-handedly. There is slight suspension, so it will be ok in the city as well as on an average road in the woods. Since it's a three-wheeled stroller, it was a bit problematic in the forest, when going off the regular route. But, to be honest, we went through so many surfaces that any other stroller would have problems, that it's nothing really.
We checked reviews of this model before purchasing it, so we knew the pros and cons beforehand - but I personally like to try and form my own opinion. Therefore, here, I put my own knowledge to take into account when deciding.
- rubber wheels
- nice maneuverability (better on smooth surfaces though)
- price
- the seat is not too upwards when in the sitting position
- wheel problems
- could be more padded, the seat - it feels cheap
- leg rest - not well made
I bought it for the school run. I expected more. Not the best three-wheeler there is - the front wheel was not too sturdy - it either doesn't swivel smoothly and gets stuck, or it swivels wildly in all the direction. I guess you get what you pay for.
A nice three-wheeled buggy for the price. I used it as a child-minder, and it works just fine. Nice to push even with an older child.
This pushchair is super quick to fold. Basket is large, but I miss some kind of small pocket in the back. I appreciate the huge hood that can even be extended some more. I would love it if the backrest went more upright, however. Also, the upholstery is soft, but on the other hand, it's waterproof - the leg rest is also covered in textiles, so when it gets dirty, you need to wash all of it (I would make it wipe clean).
The bumper bar can be removed; foam wheels easy to remove as well. They are quite large, so there's no problem with more demanding surfaces - and I find the suspension to be working great as well. I also like the brake across the whole rear part - I don't need to search for it when needing to stop (or unstop) the Rapid. I also like the locking system with which I am not afraid that the pushchair will open by itself while being unloaded from the car. The handlebar is adjustable; however, it only offers a few limited positions (but that's not too bad).
I mind those plastic parts a little. They seem a bit cheaply made and not too sturdy. For that price, though, I am quite happy with it. I am also happy with the high weight capacity since my son is quite big for his age 😄
Your questions about the Hauck Rapid 3R
Hi,
Does the Hauck Rapid 3R have a rain cover?
Hi, Lousie,
Everything is in the Specifications, you just need to open them on the stroller's page. No, the stroller usually doesn't include a rain cover, it has to be purchased separately. There's also no dedicated rain cover, you'll have to get a universal one.
My stroller is not folding when pressed and pull, why is this please?
Hey, Julie,
There is probably problem with the filing mechanism, the strap either detached from one or both sides, or there is another problem that you probably won't fix yourself. I would take it to a service and/or contact the seller/manufacturer for help.
Hello Eli,
I'm trying to decide between the Hauck Runner and Hauck Rapid 3R pram. I live in the countryside near the beach and wanted a pram that could handle a walk in the woods and on the beach. The Runner seemed to have larger wheels, but would the Rapids rubber wheels be any good on sand? Is there a standout winner for walks in the countryside and beach?
Hello, Claire!
You truly picked two similar pramsúpushchairs but I do think there's a clear winner - and it will be the Hauck Runner (2). The thing is, the Hauck brand is overall a cheaper brand, made for people on a budget. That also means a lot of stroller compromises in terms of plastic and fabric quality. I do consider them to be a bit too stiff (not much in terms of suspension) and a bit simple. When on a budget and need a new affordable stroller system, that's an OK compromise to make, BUT... if you plan to actually use your pram in the forest or on a beach, which means some serious terrain conditions, to be honest, you'll need some suspension, and that is quite significantly added by the inflatable wheels.
So yes, the Runner will be a better option because of the air-filled and larger wheels.
If I could suggest an even better, quality option, a pre-owned (or a new) Baby Jogger City Elite would be much better in terms of push comfort. Another, and more affordable, option (unsure if available to you in your country, so google for sure) would be the Casualplay LOOPi Allroad. A super-versatile, simple but very functional pram/pushchair with even a running frame optionally available if needed.
Can you buy this in Ireland ?
Hello, Sharon,
The Rapid 3R is not widely available in Ireland. You can, however, order it from Amazon - and return it, if it doesn't fit you. Also, check places in GB that deliver to Ireland. Some European shops also ship worldwide - check, for example, the Hauck Rapid 3R in the Dino sklep (with approx. 25 EUR shipping cost to Ireland).
Can I buy this in the UK? Seems unavailable anywhere? Tia
Hello, I only found it on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=hauck+rapid+3r&_sacat=0 They'll ship it to you mainly from Germany.
Please can you tell me the UK stockist?
Hello, I would primarily advise looking on Amazon, but there I only found the Rapid 3 version (maybe it's worth considering for you). There are multiple sellers that offer UK shipping on eBay, however - so try there.
