Graco is a global brand, rooted in American Philadelphia, founded by Russell Gray and Robert Cone in 1942. For the first eleven years of existence, Graco produced various parts for machines and cars. Russel Gray has left the company, and engineer Rex Thomas was left in charge of innovation. One of his new ideas was inspired by watching his wife rocking the baby on the porch. Together with David Saint, a dad to nine children, they created the first automatic swing, the Swyngomatic. The company expected to sell around 10 000 Swyngomatics, but over the years they have sold millions! In 1987, Nate Saint, a son of David Saint, invented the popular Pack N' Play Portable Playard, the world's first compact and portable playpen. In 1998, Graco acquired Century, a car seat manufacturer who introduced the possibility to fit the car seat directly on the stroller - thus, the concept of a travel system was born. From then on, as a part of the Newell Brands, Graco focuses on the innovation of childcare products. The brand offers high chairs, travel cots, playpens, strollers, and car seat that can be easily clicked on and off, making them one of the most popular car seats in the US. Apart from product safety, Graco prioritizes intuitive use and durability.
