In 2002, Karin Frost, a designer and a clever mum from Maui, came with an idea of a new, ergonomic type of baby carrier. She wanted to keep her son close to her, and she wasn’t happy with the ‘traditional’ baby carriers available back then. Ergobaby was founded, and their SSC (soft structured carrier) design has become the current gold standard. The SSC also became an inspiration for many other brands as well as for counterfeits.
Ergobaby offers various categories of baby carriers together with swaddling blankets, and since 2018, strollers too. The original 180 Reversible Stroller is their first model. There is no need to remove the seat and put it in the desired direction - the reversibility of this stroller is accomplished by the reversible handle and four swivel wheels. To complement the 180 Reversible Stroller, there is the ultra-lightweight and ultra-compact Metro that can be used as a stroller system from birth.
