Which lightweight stroller to choose - Kinderkraft Grande, Indy or Cruiser?

28 Oct 2019

Hi,

I am searching for a not-too-expensive lightweight stroller for my 1.5year-old girl. I cannot decide between the Kinderkraft Grande, Indy, or Cruiser I found online. Could you help me here and tell me which one is the best of them?

P.S. We live in the suburbs and occasionally go to the city. The sidewalks are not perfect, but we don't plan to use it in some real terrain.

Hello!

Kinderkraft is an affordable stroller brand from Poland. Its products are aimed at parents on a budget searching for nice design, functions, spaciousness… while not expecting too much. Brutal terrain or harsh conditions would be more of a deal-breaker here - that is even more profound with their strollers, which I would class as urban. Apart from the very affordable pricing, I would underline the need for space and good maneuverability in your criteria, since we're talking about using it with your one-and-a-half-year-old.

That's why I would probably look first at the Grande. It is the most spacious out of them - a 'flagship' Kinderkraft stroller for everyday use and for bigger kids as well. Simple, of course, given the price, but still the most functional here. I would also point out the new 2020 Grande model, which is even better in terms of materials and functionality. This one, in general, seems to me to be the most fitting to your needs.

The Cruiser is a new model, where I like it's really low weight the most. The sleeping surface in laying position is a bit shorter than the Grande's, so I would probably not prefer this one if your baby girl sleeps a lot while being in the stroller. Also, take into account its suspension is only mild, so I would, chassis-wise, use the Cruiser only on undemanding walks and for quick errands and trips. The large shipping basket is awesome; on the other hand, for car trips to shops, this model is the least compact out of the three (nothing huge though).

The Indy is the most compact and lightweight, but also the most basic. I would only choose this one if you were looking for a mini travel stroller option, with not much more of other criteria. Not great for long naps, neither for bad weather walks, since the canopy is not robust at all. For holidays and situations when you need a really small, compact stroller just to have at hand, or for those parts of life when the kid already walks and runs but at one point needs to rest and sit in the stroller, this is the most suitable one. Even simpler, but even more compact, would be the Mini Dot.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
