Silver Cross New Pop: What are the seat measurements, and how does it compare to ultra-compact strollers?

Coll • 13 Nov 2023

Hi thank you very much for your extremely informative website! Please could let me know the detailed dimensions of the seat on this stroller; length of backrest, seat width and depth, and full length of seat.

I'm looking for a travel stroller for my tall and heavy 16 month old (88cm and 18kg). What is your opinion on the pros and cons of ultra compact strollers (e.g. Joolz Aer+) versus 8 wheeled umbrella strollers like this one in terms of ride quality and structural rigidity for a heavy toddler? It's folded dimension is not too much of a concern for us as we are happy to check in our stroller at the gate when we fly. Thanks :)

Hey, Coll,

We have the seat dimensions under the stroller in the part Seat Unit. If you click on that, lower on the stroller's page, you'll see:

Backrest height
50 cm
Width and depth of the sitting surface
35 x 21 cm
Total length of the seat unit
87 cm

About the pros and cons vs. ultra-compact travel strollers, well. The two handles make, unfortunately, for a bit flimsier ride, you won't be able to push this one-handed and especially with a bigger child, that side will get looser over time. The push is, in general, a bit less nimble and comfortable, compared to, On the plus side, the set will be wider and overall much roomier in the seat area, a bit better for naps. It can also feel a bit more stable, sitting better on the ground.

So, if you don't mind the length after folding, and you are not planning to use this for years and years, it is an ok choice with a good seat space and a very nice canopy. If you do need a one-hand and/or a nimbler push, the Aer would be the better choice though.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
