How do I get the carrycot to lay flat? I’ve tried lifting the seat unit recline handle and pushing it but it literally will not move. It came with the seat unit bits that click in at an angle for the pushchair not the carrycot so I can’t get it to lay flat and I can’t have my newborn sitting up. The instructions are not clear at all and I don’t know what to do.

You need to release all the straps and buckles on the underside of the seat/bassinet. After it's all released and loosened up, you need to use the lever right over the hood, lift it, and adjust the angle to a full lie flat.
Just watch the carrycot to seat in ths video (from ~1:15) and do that just the other way around.
