Do the side of the pram move so it lies down? The attachments are facing at an angle so it will only fit onto the pram for the child to sit up. However we need the crib as it is a new born.

The bassinet converts to the seat (advice versa), so that the pram works for a newborn as well as a toddler. So you CAN loosen all so that you form a lie-flat, deep bassinet, and later on, clip the straps together so that the part forms a seat. So yes, in that bassinet setup, it will work for a newborn, after loosening all the straps and adjusting the angle, the part will be lie-flat. Definitely don't put your newborn on anything else that a lie-flat surface.
