Mountain Buggy Duet V3

see 1 parent review

At just 63cm in width, the Mountain Buggy Duet V3 can be compared to an ordinary single pushchair and is one of the slimmest double strollers with side-by-side seats. Therefore, the Duet V3 is one of the biggest competition of the favorite Bugaboo Donkey. Thanks to the well-balanced center of gravity, the Duet V3 is easily maneuverable. The new handbrake is also very user-friendly. Once folded, the V3 is smaller by 7 cm compared to the previous version.

The improved seats with an extraordinary backrest height of 64cm is a rarity not only for double strollers. This stroller can thus be used even for a four or even five years old child/children. The backrests, as well as the leg rests of the V3, are fully adjustable. Apart from the seats, you can attach one or two car seats or one or two carrycots. The Carrycot Plus can be used three-ways. Apart from the lie-flat option, you can attach the carrycot textiles differently to achieve an inclined mode, perfect for babies suffering from reflux. By using a different fabrics set, it can also be converted to a rear-facing bucket-type seat, which is an excellent transition between carrycot and forward-facing seat. Instead of the Carrycot Plus, one or two soft carrycots can be inserted into the seats for your newborns.

The Duet V3 can also be used in the Double mode for twins, combining two carrycots or two car seats. You can also use it for siblings by combining a seat with either a carrycot or a car seat. Alternatively, you can use two seats for older siblings. There is also an optional scooter - the Freerider, that can be added to the chassis as a sibling board to ride with three children at the same time. You can even use the Duet for just one child using one seat with an additional shopping basket with a weight capacity of up to 10 kg. Together with the shopping basket at the bottom of the chassis, the stroller can handle a shopping of up to 23kg. The Duet V3 was also launched in limited editions - the Year of the Rooster (2017) and the Year of the Dog (2018).

We wanted something with a view for the older as well as the younger one. The Duet fit us the best. The push is smooth even over bumps, and it fits all doors we encountered.

Your questions about the Mountain Buggy Duet V3

1)

Hello everyone,

I have question :)

I bought the Mountain Buggy Duet 3.0 . Recently I bought two second hand carry cots for that model. When I checked on the carrycots it actually says ‘MB1 -c5 COMPATIBLE WITH MB DUET STROLLER’

Question 1 - the carry cots are for mountain buggy 1.0 ?
Question 2 - if they are, can I somehow put them in my mountain buggy 3.0 ?

Need your advice asap .
Suggest me what to do, I don’t want to loose money.

Thank you
Dominik

Hi, Dominik,

I don't know these numbers by heart, and you would probably do better to ask Mountain Buggy's customer service about the product numbers and their exact model. In any case, there is a visual different - for the older V1 carrycots, they are larger, less rounded on the edges, and will only fit the V1 model, yeah.

The newer, V2 & V3 fitting carrycot, are rounded and convertible to a parent-facing seat of sorts. I don't think you can put the older ones on your newer MB, but definitely check with the customer service of MB's to get an official statement and potential parts availability to put them on if, by any chance, that could be done.

What material is it the fabric made of?

Hi, Kim,

The Mountain Buggy strollers, pretty much like most strollers, use a kind of thicker woven polyester fabric as far as I know.
