Maxi-Cosi Lila XP

The large-wheeled, modern, robust system
.eli
see 5 parent reviews

The Maxi-Cosi Lila XP is an all-terrain continuation of the Lila and the Maxi-Cosi Lila CP. It can tackle harsher surfaces and off-road thanks to the large wheels with suspension - but also because of its robust frame with a higher-positioned seat. In worse terrain conditions, you'll also appreciate the easy front wheels locking system on the side of the chassis - no need to bend in the front of the stroller.

The Maxi-Cosi Lila XP's difference from the other Lila line models is that the stroller features a non-convertible seat unit that can be reclined up to a 160-degree lie-flat (the leg rest can also be individually adjusted). It also boasts a soft seat liner, an extendable canopy with ventilation mesh, and a very softly padded seat - even the extra crotch strap is heavily padded for the highest baby comfort. To use the Lila XP from birth as a pram, the Oria and the newer Oria XXL carrycot or car seat adapters are available to purchase separately or in a stroller system set.

  • Big seat and 5 point safety belts
  • Big shopping bag
  • Comes with rain cover and insect cover and handle
  • Big wheels
  • Good maneuvering even with one hand
  • Back of the seat can be flattened completely (but canopy not covering all way down)
  • Have a pocket under the seat to store the covers or other valuables (it’s kind of hidden)
  • Nice graphite color
  • No need to add pressure on wheels
  • Canopy (the lowest part is hanging down and you can’t put it straight or fix it up)
  • Quite heavy and big
  • Tricky to assemble
  • Wheels feel hard in bumps

It’s a nice stroller overall but small details sometimes would be annoying like the canopy textile not being fixed up and then kind of hanging a bit.

After using it now for 9+ months with our first, I think I’d buy a used one but better quality (premium possibly) for that price. Maybe we will do that if we have more kids.

I liked the big wheels and easiness to maneuver around, especially on bumpy roads. But wheels feel a bit hard on bumps.

  • a nice, spacious/wide seat
  • a rather upright seatback
  • handlebar adjustment
  • easy to fold
  • nice, soft suspension
  • swivel locking button on the side of the frame
  • easy brake
  • short-ish leg rest
  • hard-to-adjust backrest to the most upper position
  • heavy, bulky
  • the frame feels a bit wobbly and the ride doesn't feel so all-terrain because of that
  • a bit loose = noisy-ish front wheels
  • basket should be deeper

We are rather happy with it, but the all-terrain ability doesn't feel as present as one would think, I think it's mainly because of the front wheels that feel stiff and wobbly at the same time. The seat is well-padded seat is rather spacious, even if I'd welcome a longer leg rest, to be honest. The folded size is very bulky so not suitable for smaller car boot.

The Lila XP is massive

3
  • Massive frame with large wheels = good terrain capability
  • Padded lie-flat seat
  • Accessible storage basket
  • Very nice suspension
  • Canopy coverage
  • Bulky fold
  • Should be more sturdy
  • Price

It feels like a robust, all-terrain pram, but it got less sturdy (more give in the frame) over time. I do love those large wheels and a reasonably soft suspension. Watch out if you have a tiny boot - the Lila XP is massive.

A very tall stroller, which makes my husband happy. Quite bulky after folding. Nice large wheels with a locking mechanism on the side. Overall, very nice for village life - or really bumpy roads, mainly if the baby's comfort is your priority (the padding is sooo comfy). I would appreciate more space in the seat unit, an even larger canopy, and the XXL Oria carrycot is nice and wide, but not that spacious, imo. It's not for people with small cars for sure, so be careful to check the measurements before buying.

  • handlebar goes very high
  • large wheels with no punctures
  • padding
  • extra pockets
  • memory buttons
  • not so easy to push if you're not very tall or when the seat is parent-facing
  • heavy
  • large folded
  • there could be more suspension
  • small-ish basket

I liked it a lot at first, but the size and weight get tiring if you do travel with it. I am getting a compact buggy.
