The stroller was also released in a higher LX version, often being called identically to the basic one (Joie Nitro). • Basket for a few bits and bobs while you're out.
  • Folds up easily.
  • Lightweight and fits into the car boot reasonably well.
  • Good value.
  • The seat doesn't rise up enough and my daughter slides down with all her weight on the strap.
  • There isn't a crotch strap cover and with the slumping, it looks uncomfortable.
  • Rain cover not big enough with a larger child in the buggy. Not so bad with a smaller baby.
  • Sun shade isn't big enough, we're using a separate brolly on sunny days.

Reasonably priced lightweight buggy.

  • Lightweight
  • Reasonably padded seat
  • High weight capacity
  • Lies flat
  • Often on sale, bought mine for about £50
  • Different colours available
  • Toggle recline easy to use but seat does not go very upright, my toddler is constantly sliding down/ slumping in it, not great
  • Canopy is tiny, you will definitely need an extra sun shade cover
  • I think it should come with a crotch pad cover

Had mine for about 18 months, holding up pretty well, used on different terrains. Biggest con in my opinion is the seat that doesn't sit upright enough.

Your questions about the Joie Nitro

1)

Why can I not get the back of my Joie buggy in an upright position as my child sits slumped in his seat ???

Hi, Linda,

It is a thing of many, and I mean MANY strollers, mostly the more lightweight pushchairs – for design and compactness/folding system reasons, they are made so that the backrests are slanted. There exist more upright strollers on the markets, but they actually are rather few.

With some buggies, there is a way to put a belt/any kind of strap behind the seat to hold the seatback more forward, thus more upright, so you can try that, but I am not sure if it is possible with this exact model.

Another piece of advice is that you might try a stroller with a bumper bar, as they help the child be more secure even if by holding the bar, and also a more deep seat area (As, if it is shallow, it makes the child slide down and slump in the seat). If ever picking a new stroller, the best practice is to try it out with your kiddo if wanting to be sure it will fit him/her, seeing how the sitting in it goes.
