iCandy Apple 2 Pear
The iCandy Apple 2 Pear is a newer version of the variable Apple and Pear single-to-double strollers/stroller systems. This multifunctional model can be used in mono mode - as the Apple 2, or a tandem mode - as the Pear 2. The chassis accommodates one or two seat units, two carrycots, or car seats. Converting to a double, two pairs of Pip converters have to be used for the seats, but they can be clicked on in the forward-facing mode only. Unlike the predecessor versions, the Apple 2 Pear’s seats are identical, full-featured, but they don’t feature bumper bars. The second seat of this tandem stroller interferes with the shopping basket a lot, making it almost useless. Thanks to the so-called newborn nests, the stroller can be used for siblings as well as for twins right from birth. The Apple 2 Pear newborn nest consists of a set of fabrics with an insert and an apron, which you have to pull over the frame of the seat and transform the seat into a form of a carrycot. The mono mode carrycot is different; however - being a full-sized one, it is heavier, more substantial. However, two of these larger, full-featured carrycots will not fit the frame of the double stroller.
Compared to the older version, the Apple 2 Pear is 40 % lighter and comes with a shopping basket that is 11% bigger. Even fully loaded, the stroller is easily maneuverable. The broader wheels with suspension can handle the city as well as slightly more demanding conditions. You can fold the chassis with one or even two seat units still attached! The Apple 2 Pear is available primarily in the stroller-only mode, while the hoods (now with added pop-out sun visors) have to be purchased separately as a part of the Flavour Kit. You can choose from many colors of the kits, giving you the option to mix and match to personalize your stroller. The Apple 2 Pear is also available as a bundle or a stroller system. There are also many other, optional accessories available - including rear, all-terrain, air-filled wheels. The Apple 2 Pear comes only with a rain cover included.
