The Chicco Alysia is a 2021 release of a full-featured, 3in1 stroller system covering all an urban mom should need in a stroller. Starting with a spacious, in-the-car usable Lightnap Carrycot carrycot (auto kit included) with inclining function, through a reversible, fully reclining lie-flat seat unit with a possibility of mesh backrest, to a click-on, no adapters needed car seat (with an Isofix base available as a sold-separately accessory), the Alysia is usable from newborn to toddler. It is very summer-friendly thanks to the ventilated seat as well as a bassinet, but also ready for colder days thanks to the seat liner insert (included - as a leg cover and a rain cover also are). You can use the bassinet in the car instead of a car seat, but a conventional Kiros i-Size car seat is also included in the stroller set.

An advantage of the Alysia is not only its price, but also the narrow (50 cm in width) frame that will be great for city streets or in the shops. The rubber wheels with thread are equipped with ball bearings and all-wheel shock-absorbing suspension. You'll also appreciate the self-standing fold of the pram that can be done with the seat attached.

For the money, it's a good value

3
  • good value for money
  • comfy carrycot
  • a 3in1 system
  • a narrow seat with a short leg rest
  • canopy in the reclined position
  • not that much suspension

I love how narrow it is, and how the backrest can be made mesh like the Cybex Mios' does. Perfect for summer. If I were to reproach something, I do mind the super-short leg rest and also the canopy is short in the reclined position. For the money, it's a good value - I mean, the carrycot is comfy (even if lower to the ground, making the storage less accessible) and the seat reverses - but I am not so sure about the car seat and about how long the seat's gonna last bcs of the leg rest and the narrower surface.

  • Soft, roomy bassinet
  • Upright seat
  • Budget-friendly
  • Compact
  • No adaptors necessary
  • Canopy
  • Unsure about the car seat

I bought it for the great price tag, the modern look of it, and!!! The upright seat. It was the most upright seat unit I found in the store (I knew I wanted one after my first baby who was so slumped in a partially-reclined seat in the uproght position...).

They said it's new on the market. So, happy about my purchase so far! It's waiting for the little passenger to arrie in the next few weeks 😊

Your questions about the Chicco Alysia

1)

Hi,

Several questions:

Can you provide more details about Chicco Alysia car seat - does it need and come with the base for 360 movement? Is it good quality and comfortable for baby's back?

Also how easy it is to fold the stroller (with or without bassinet) and how heavy is it to carry after?

Is it good for all terrains?

Thank you

Hey, Nino,

The Alysia car seat is, from my point of view, a simpler one, nothing really special. It doesn't need a base and doesn't offer any 360 rotating one. Their non-inclinable car seats are NOT the healthiest choice for babies and are recommended to use for about 30 minutes of time, then a need for a break so that baby's back is not strained (babies should be in a lie-flat position until they sit up by themselves, without help).

The stroller is over 11 kg which is not light but not crazy heavy, an ok middle ground, but not super easy to carry all the time. It is not too hard to fold (a few tries at home and then it will be easy enough for you), and you can fold it with the seat on, but not with the bassinet.

This is not an all-terrain stroller, in my opinion, the suspension is just not there for all-terrain use. I would recommend this for undemanding urban parents myself.

One more thing - personally, I found the seat very impractical - small, limited in space for toddlers.
