I have looked at a lot of stroller options and I really really like the Avus model. The problem is that ideally I would like to use it from birth and it's not compatible with a carrycot. You seem to be saying that it's still usable from birth but with a Maxi-Cosi, aren't those seats for traveling in the car ? Can I use a Maxi Cosi for daily strolls outside during the first 6 months of the baby?

I was also thinking to use the Avus in a lie-flat position + a cocoon style cot, like the Cybex Cot S or the Red Castle Citylink cocoon. Do you think it could be an option? Thank you!

Hiya, Natalia!

You are absolutely right, a car seat is mostly for traveling, and on a stroller, it can be used with a newborn or a small baby only for shorter time periods or for occasional shoping etc. It should not be used with a car seat as a full-time stroller option, that is not healthy for the child's neck and spine, and can cause problems in later adulthood of the child.

However, you can use it with a car seat that reclines on the frame, e.g. the Joie i-Level, the Kiddy Evoluna i-size, or the Cybex Cloud - it will be much healthier, but also an expensive option for sure.

I personally would definitely go for the soft cot/cocoon option if I were to use such a pushchair from birth, YES! A universal one, from Hauck throught Stokke to Red Castle you mentioned, you can actually use it more comfortably, of course, only in the lie-flat mode. It will, however, make the fold bulkier or more demanding if taking the whole thing off when folding your pushchair.

Or, lastly, you can always find similar style buggies with a carrycot option, e.g. the Baby Jogger City Mini2 or the Oyster Zero...

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
